Trump is a greater threat to our democracy than ISIS

While everyone else was grief stricken, praying for the victims and offering their condolences after the mass shootings at the Pulse in Orlando early Sunday morning that killed 50 and injured 53, Donald Trump was congratulating himself. He tweeted,

Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don’t want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!

Notice that he disguised self-congratulation by misrepresenting it as congratulations received from others. Yes, this is the real Donald Trump, an incredibly selfish and vile human being without a shred of empathy whose first instinct is to use the deadliest mass shooting in our history for personal advantage.

In a separate statement, he demanded President Obama’s resignation from office.

In his remarks today, President Obama disgracefully refused to even say the words ‘Radical Islam’. For that reason alone, he should step down. If Hillary Clinton, after this attack, still cannot say the two words ‘Radical Islam’ she should get out of this race for the presidency.

Worse, he even suggested this morning on Fox and Friends that President Obama may have had foreknowledge of what was going to happen, but did nothing to stop it.

Trump’s behavior convinces me that he is a greater threat to our democracy than ISIS.

Someone here been drinking FL tap water ?? Looks like it. Garbled nonsense is the 1st symptom.

  2. Ed, you are full of shit.

I rarely use the word ‘evil’ because it has muddled origins in the vast fog of religious superstition. I’m not sure what it means anymore, if anything.

But now there’s Donald Trump to consider. What is he, if not evil?

To me, he is the embodiment of the word.

And you’re blind if you can’t see it.

He used a terrible tragedy to promote himself and he accused President Obama of being involved.

He’s a disgusting, vile, vicious & loathsome human being who should be shunned by everyone.

What the hell is wrong with you?

Indeed, with his constant scapegoating and self-promotion, he reminds me of Hitler. As you may know, anti-semitism in Europe existed long before Hitler, but Hitler used it for his political benefit and took it to new heights. Trump seems willing to do the same with groups that are widely despised in this country. Using this horrific act for self-aggrandizement fits the pattern. If it hadn’t happened, he would have had to invent something to point to. We can only keep speaking up and hope that he does not become president.

There are two factors that provide some hope. The first is that our political system is one that requires a majority of the electoral vote which tends to require a majority or near-majority of the popular vote. Hitler was able to demand the chancellorship even though the had nowhere near a majority of the popular vote. The other is the existence of a strong and vocal opposition to his way of thinking and a strong candidate to go with it.

      • Our other advantage is knowledge of Hitler’s rise to power. Unfortunately, knowledge requires learning and the percentage of low-to-no information voters is too high for our democracy to function in a rational way. Add more mass-shootings-with-ties-to-ISIS to the list as the election approaches and we have legitimate cause for concern. Meanwhile, the vulgar imbecile with an orange face and sticky hair chugs along spewing hate and spreading anxiety in his wake.

all that you write is bad enough, but as the day progressed, trump revoked the press credentials of the washington post. the post now joins such news organizations as univision, buzzfeed, huffpost, demoines register and others as banned from trump events and news conferences.

every single citizen should be alarmed. this is very dangerous territory if you ask me. i shudder to think what a trump presidency would look like. scary.

He’s not so bad, he is like me, just a gaddamed blonde haired white guy, and you bastards can’t make one ot them…. and if you ever did, they’d cut him up and make him into expensive material for the witch doctors… Fact… Albino children are sold for that purpose for thousands of years… Dodo you, and Uncle Tom FL.

  5. ed nelson says:

Hi Fred, I guess, if I were in your place,

But really, Fred, I cannot countanence this obvious dilusionary, proposturous… thought process, that seems to put forth a crazy notion, that… Hillary is anything other than a complete utter Lunatic!! She is plane as day! She ”High” on power” the total aphrodisiac!…. as has been noted by some, noted by all of any who are literate!

    But of course, well Frec…

They all have to bray… they all have to wag their tails…

We must obey our masters, in the course…. Heil __________

Your attacking a blonde woman (Hillary Clinton) as being “a complete lunatic” while excusing the hateful scapegoating and shameless self-promotion of a blonde man (Donald Trump) seems to me to be an “obvious delusionary, preposterous thought process”.

    • girlp says:

Really, she is nowhere near or close to being a lunatic. I can understand not supporting her policies pass and present but putting forth 30 year old rightwing BS I will not accept. Where are you getting this BS from. Hitler = Trump

  6. Apparently America needs some massive lesson about mental illness and power, as well as about mental illness and arming the citizenry with assault weapons and automatic handguns. Incredibly sad that common sense isn’t saving the day on either of these issues. Should be a no-brainer.

  7. Rachael says:

He is such a disgrace to humanity. How disgusting a presidential candidate takes to twitter to offer himself a self congratulatory jerk-off – with 50 innocent people dead and many more injured…he is a cancer on humanity and needs to be held accountable for fanning hate and fear…He is a monster.

    • Yes, exactly my sentiments.

    • ed nelson says:

He must seem nonstrous to some, but not to me, he mostly looks like my late Uncle Erik, and he seems to act and talk like my folks, back of old, not one bit any different than my old time guys, you know, the guys who came back from the war in the ’50’s

But in the terms of the demographics of nawaday America, mostly a bunch of spoon fed _______ expletive deleted…. morons… well sure, Trump must be the perfect face to hate,
the perfect face to put up, before the Cu de Graw, which I shouldn’t need to speak of, because it’s you dummy…

You will be done with, you and all the blonde fellows… Nordic

[Warning: Never ever use the N-word, ever again]
