Cop calls dog over to him then shoots it

by Crane-Station

This tail-wagging family pet was apparently seven months old and his name was Maximus. The police department has admitted that the video clip is legit.

The information that was posted to the YouTube video:

Published on Oct 17, 2014

This POS cop called a seemingly playful dog over to him and guns it down. The “Law enforcement officer” is from Cleburne PD. Please feel free to post their info in the comments, I will update when I have more info!

Update 1: In the report the officer claims that the dog was aggressive and coming at him

Update 2: several sources are saying that the perp is Officer Kevin Lynn Dupre, Cleburne TX PD.

Update 3: Petition against cop…

If you scratch a police department like this, you will likely find an asshat underneath, who is trying to spin the video some other way, and come up with an excuse. Here is Cleburne PD trying to come up with an excuse, on their Facebook page:

The City is obviously concerned about the video showing an officer shooting a dog. As is often the case, the short video does not tell the whole story. The officer was responding to a 911 call for assistance. Three dogs had pinned some residents in a vehicle. One dog was secured without incident before the shooting. The officer was attempting to secure the other dogs until animal control arrived when one dog became aggressive. The City of Cleburne takes the safety of our residents, their pets, and our officers seriously. This incident is currently under review. The review will include interviews with witnesses and review of department policies. Once the review is concluded, any actions that may be warranted will be handled swiftly and appropriately. The Cleburne Police Department is seeking the public’s help if anyone observed this incident, please contact the Professional Standards Unit at 817.556.8894.
There is also a Justice 4 Maximus Facebook page. On that page, there are many comments, but here is one from a police officer in Pennsylvania. If you click on the link, it will take you to the Facebook page, where there are updates and links.

First off I am a Police officer, a State Constable in Pennsylvania….This video if true is VERY appalling. I happen to also be a dog lover…3 dogs…2 pits and a rat terrier who are the nicest dogs, especially around children. I deal with dogs numerous times daily and unless I am physically being attacked there are other ways to handle them. In this case it appears that isn’t so..the dog is called over to be executed. If this turns out to be true he needs to be fired and criminally charged. I may take some flak from fellow law enforcement officers here but I want to make myself clear that if this is true and this dog executed for no reason I want something done to this officer!
I think this officer should have been fired already. What do you think about this incident and other incidents, where friendly family pets are killed by cops like this one?

Speaking of psychopaths. I couldn’t watch all of this. Very graphic.

  3. Bill Taylor says:

reality is we have some psychopaths with badges running around in most of our cities and towns.

    • bettykath says:

If you move too slowly to comply with orders, you’re a target. This guy is lucky, he was tazed. He could have been shot.

      • Bill Taylor says:

and that is what will get many law abiding citizens murdered…..see law abiding folks dont understand how police can just start giving them orders? we expect the police to also be law abiding and NEVER bother us when we have broken no laws…..and some of u older folks with injuries CANT move fast…..

        • bettykath says:

If I were told to get on the ground I would probably be tazed. I can’t do it without holding onto something. Think a cop would lend a hand?

      • owl says:

if you move too quickly or toward you pocket or glove compartment, you’re shot.
if you exercise what you believe yo be your rights by your speech, or refuse your property or person to be searched, you’re “resisting”.
        when will it end?
        how will it end?

        • Bill Taylor says:

this stuff will end one of two ways, either the good people of this nation stand up for LIBERTY and force this to end, OR they remain silent and we all observe the END of the concept of LIBERTY among the people of this planet.

!st of all, the camera starts with the lights and siren being turned on so according to the video, the only proof that can be used, the victim did pull over when they went on. Lying cop.

Cop at 1:10 calls him an idiot…..very unprofessional.

2 M/C cops and neither is wearing a helmet not protective clothing……..there’s a great example.

The stopping officer is and looks like a bully.

Even an incompetent lawyer will rip the evading charge apart. Who do these bullies think they are talking to. Thank God for video !!

      • I was wondering how loud the siren would be on a motorcycle. But yes, thank god for video. Problem is, if the video does not show what the cops want it to, and a case goes to court, that video is lost, or the batteries were not working that day. The same rule applies to audio. I know, because it happened to me. Three cops, from two agencies suddenly claimed that their body mikes all malfunctioned at precisely the exact same moment.

if true, if legit, i can’t bear the heartless torture and violation of the trust of innocents. i abhor bullying and violence. i love animals as much as, and of late, more than people, and protect them as much as i do infants / toddlers / children.

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.

  5. bettykath says:

Maybe cops should be getting training in how to deal with animals, especially dogs.

    • Well, maybe I am wrong, but I thought that Animal Control is part of the police, or sheriff. According to the various posts, they were on the way…I really think this cop just wanted to pull out his sidearm, and kill somebody’s family dog(s).

  6. bettykath says:

The dogs aren’t threatening anyone, including the cop. Animal control is on its way. The cop just used the dogs for target practice. He should be have been fired soon as the video surface. There is NO excuse.
