Good evening! Fred and I are sharing a computer currently. We believe we have worked out a truce, as well as a schedule, so that we can both post without killing each other. I will be posting again on Friday. In the upcoming weeks, I am hoping to post some historical essays from the 1930s and 1940s, as my parents are kind enough to share them. I will also address other topics.

Here are some things we have been discussing, at this site:

1. Today I did see one article from Byron Williams at Huffington Post, titled, There Is No Comparison Between Zimmerman and Alexander. I found it unusual that after a couple of hours, there were no comments. That may have changed by now, but I am wondering if this is an indication that internet traffic overall is lower than it has been, or if people are kind of avoiding the topic of Zimmerman, at this point.

There is no comparison between Alexander and Zimmerman for many reasons. State prosecutor Angela Corey has demonstrated competence in little more than getting a conviction in the Dunn case, but not exactly a conviction for killing, but rather for Dunn’s firing at but not killing, three of four teenagers. Corey will re-try Marissa Alexander, and go for 60 years this time around. She also claims that she will retry Dunn, and what is interesting at this point is, it does not look like there will be a continuance. The trial is scheduled for May.

4. Kendrick Johnson. We believe that Kendrick Johnson was most likely murdered. There appear to be no additional articles addressing an email confession, but we will continue to watch.

This is an open thread, please join and share thoughts, videos, music…whatever is on your mind. Here are a couple of videos, if you care to watch. The hat tip for the first goes to yellowsnapdragon at Firedoglake, who shared it yesterday. It is Ode to Joy, a flash mob, in Odessa:

  1. Two sides to a story says:

Gotta love a sociologist who thinks Fogen supporters are bit addled.

  2. Two sides to a story says:

Meanwhile, on the left coast, Manuel Ramos is seeking immunity to hinder federal probe in the Kelly Thomas murder case.

Hard to find words since I’m throwing up in my mouth – a lot.

  3. Good morning! Crane-Station here, stealing a moment on Fred’s screen. We are having a look at the surreal Angela Corey letter. Fred is currently working on a post, but he is researching some things first.

  4. Malisha says:

Corey needs to be removed from the Alexander case. Obviously a letter to the legislators violates separation of powers and is a bald attempt to manipulate the whole system to her advantage against a defendant who does not have similar control over other branches of government. Corey needs to be severely punished for this violation. Does anybody have a link to the text of the letter itself? I can’t see videos on this computer and would like a text to read.

Corey’s defense is that the letter is “essentially a press release.” What a stupid lie! A prosecutor knows how to issue a press release. AND not all press releases are permitted while a criminal trial is pending. Where’s Dershowitz now that his anti-Corey sentiment and his constitutional law expertise are needed? Oh, forgot: he isn’t worried about defendant Alexander; she’s Black.

      • Malisha says:

Corey has now effectively PERMANENTLY deprived Alexander of due process. Alexander can NOT get a fair trial now.

    • ladystclaire says:

Exactly Malisha, why should he care about this AA female in the manner in which he felt that a child murderer should have never been arrested for the crime which he committed. some people in this country, never cease to amaze me. AC is being seen and called out for the vile evilness and, the racist nature that is HER and, she is taking it out on MA. it is what it is and, how of all people this woman thinks she above AA and poor Hispanics, when she herself has roots in the middle east? I agree with you very much that she needs to be removed from this case and also the MD case as well. she and those who work under her, all have two faces and they are dirty as hell. I have no more respect for BDLR or John Guy. they had us all fooled into thinking that they were honest and above board, in getting justice for an innocent child, when they knew all along that they were part of the plan to let a murderer go free.

    Lawmaker responds to Alexander letter.

VIDEO: Critics call a three-page letter sent to legislators by the State Attorney unethical. In the letter, Angela Corey details what she calls the facts about the Marissa Alexander assault case because she contends they’ve been “mis-reported extensively”. Alexander is awaiting her second trial on charges of firing a shot in the direction of her estranged husband and his two children.

  6. Immensely frustrating not to find some of the 122 objects in the water spotted by the French satellite on Sunday.

  7. Rachael says:

Here is one young man (Stacy Robinson) you probably won’t hear about at the outhouse – watch the video and you’ll see why:

Thank goodness for the brave men who saved the lives of those children.
