Samantha Scheibe and Hope Mason interview regarding George Zimmerman

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Good morning:

Here is a link to Erik Sandoval’s story about his interviews and communications with Samantha Scheibe (GZ’s girlfriend who called 911) and her mother Hope Mason regarding Scheibe’s relationship with Zimmerman. He is a reporter for Channel 6 in Orlando.

The most troubling part of the interview involves a still-photo from a sex video showing Scheibe and Zimmerman having sex. Zimmerman sent it to Scheibe’s 10-year-old daughter.

After one argument with Zimmerman, Scheibe said she went to her mother’s house to get away from him.

While there, Mason said Scheibe’s daughter received a text message from George Zimmerman. Mason said that message was a still image from an intimate home video of Scheibe and Zimmerman.

“He’s now threatened her in writing and even sent a portion of the video to her baby girl,” Mason wrote in a text message.

But still Scheibe stayed with Zimmerman and the couple reunited.

If the incident occurred as described, Zimmerman used blackmail and extortion to punish and “persuade” Scheibe to return to him.

Zimmerman was served in jail with a copy of Shellie’s divorce petition after his arrest on Monday.

Does anyone continue to doubt that Zimmerman nailed the target from the shooting range with 17 bullet holes in it to the wall in Shellie’s parent’s house?

I know I’ve been a big pessimist about whether federal charges will be brought. Probably a defense mechanism after being so devastated by that joke of a “trial” we suffered through not so long ago.

But, God bless Earl Ofari Hutchinson! He apparently hasn’t given up on the feds yet, and he always writes so eloquently about why federal charges are not only justifiable, but necessary.

Here’s his latest article (I think it’s been published other places, too):

    • MDH says:

Zimmerman has a pattern of racial profiling with respect to his many 9-11 call. He falsely accused a kid of stealing a bike.

I absolutely agree that TM’s constitutional rights were violated the moment Zimmerman called 9-11 based on “nothing”.

This issue points to another reason why there are zealots supporting Zimmerman.

These people {scum, IMO} want the right to be able to harass and bait others with their hidden gun giving them a sense of security.

What if the police had come before TM was shot?

IMO, Zimmerman should have been charged or sued for making a false accusation.

Goggle and waders warning – interesting exchange between several Treestumpers and RZ (LetJusticePrevail) and Shellie’s aunt (justfactsplz). One Treestumper basically accuses Fogen, Shellie, and RZ of lying about Shellie’s presence at home on the night of Trayvon’s death, without knowing that he or she is having a conversation with RZ.

    • Malisha says:

Interesting that Serino and Singleton never interviewed Shellie?

THEY ALL KNEW that Shellie and Fogen were split up by the time he killed Trayvon Martin. Didn’t want to deal with it.

      • Two sides to a story says:

Why no charging RZ with perjury? He constantly offeredt GZs story that the couple always mentored black kids on Sunday, always went shopping at Target.

    • ks says:

Hilarious. Also, doesn’t that mean the papa Z lied on the stand when he said GZ was home cooking dinner for SZ the night of the shooting. And this should put the final lie to the whole “GZ was going shopping and just happened to see TM…” nonsense.

      • Rachael says:

I don’t see what he had to offer anyway. Shellie wasn’t there, but then neither was HE (RZ SR). How did he know? He was repeating only what GZ said. He wasn’t there watching him cook dinner after mentoring nonexistent African American children. Effn LIAR!!!! The whole damned lot of them. ALL OF THEM.

        • Two sides to a story says:

That was my take during the trial – a lot of secondhand knowledge or lies coming from the GZ camp. I don’t understand how or why the jury would have been impressed by any of it.

      • Two sides to a story says:

Yes, either RZ lied or may only know what GZ told him. But I’d sure like to have been a fly on the walls of his family!

    • groans says:

Did you mean to say that “fedfef1” is Shellie’s aunt?

  3. in an article i read shellie said that she had left the night before trayvon was killed because george humiliated her publicly when she was sick….Sounds like he was trying to create a drama to pull her back in like he always seems to do….’i’ll kill myself’ etc when someone is leaving him, get their attention and support.

In Trayvons case the first thing he says is “call my wife”, being the wife that just left him the night before. I bet he would have called Shellie about his heroics no matter how the Trayvon situation ended and reeled her back in, relying on human nature to help someone we care about in their time of need.

Then he became a hero to the twisted and he had a whole lot of offers from other women and shellie became yesterdays news (the second he was aquitted, not before or that might have hurt his chances with the jury and public).

Apparently this latest trouble he’s in is now all a set up….sundance is onto it so it must be the truth.

    • Malisha says:

“Call my wife” WAS the first thing he said. And he was walking around on the cell phone after killing Trayvon Martin, too, according to witness statement. I had not thought of this angle. I had thought, “Mad at Shellie but can’t take it out on her tonight, gonna SHOW SOMEBODY he’s not to be dissed.” But you’re right. “Call my wife.” “My wife’s a mess.” Osterman goes and fetches “wife.” Wife he treats with “preciousness.” Wife Wife. Also, before “re-enactment,” in the car, “My wife — I was…”

      • Malisha says:

        Also jailhouse phone call…

“You’re gonna have a great life when this is all over with.”

“WE’re gonna have a great life,”

      • Two sides to a story says:

White knight comes to the rescue. Moments after the shot, Fogen is rationalizing the entire thing, bringing Shellie into it.

        • Two sides to a story says:

PS – I had a bipolar / narcissist husband who engaged in similar behavior – wife, wife, doing this for wife, while at the same time, mentally, emotionally, and physically abusing wife.

        • fauxmccoy says:

@twosides … yup. it really sounds as if shellie had intended on leaving him for good that night. . . but a manipulative call of ‘help me’ sucked her back in. she does say now that leaving him is the best thing she has ever done, too bad she even answered that call.

          • groans says:

Faux – you think so? Then what is it that prevents her from saying now that she was leaving him back in 2/12? Her pending divorce? Her probation? Shame or embarrassment?

I was glad that she looked noticeably stronger in her Couric interview. But I did pick up on a lot of body language – sighs, stiffening, and very subtle muscle movements – whenever the subject of Trayvon and the 2/26/12 events were brought up.

And I wanted to STRANGLE her (not literally) when she insisted yet again on “sending” her same old “message” to Sybrina and Tracy: “I’m so, so, sooooo sorry for your loss.”

And that was not long after she disappointingly stated that CAC had “changed” during or AFTER the trial. Oh yeah – she had also just stated very definitely that CAC (1) is not racist, and (2) did not go out “intending to kill someone.” So when the obviously pre-planned “sorry for your loss” came out, I just about threw up! And I can only imagine how Trayvon’s parents might feel (hopefully they won’t witness it, though).

I mean, I don’t doubt that she’s sorry for their loss. But she needs to QUIT trying to “talk to them” about it – or really about anything – unless THEY approach HER. It’s her own shame and guilty feelings and this new slut all in her business that Shellie’s actually struggling with now, I believe. But if she isn’t quite ready to see and deal with reality in its entirety yet, then she should STFU until she completes her therapy (whether formal, or not).

Honestly, after seeing Shellie’s Couric interview, I came away seeing an awful lot of similarity between Shellie and Maddy (B-29). And they both need to STFU until they’re ready and able to deal with reality in its entirety!

Talk me down if I’m being unfair, faux! 😉

          • fauxmccoy says:

ahhhh, groans, i cannot take you down. i can share my observations though, keeping in mind that counseling victims of DV is what i did for years.

first, i think there is only one socially appropriate response to strangers in mourning and that is the rather banal ‘i am sorry for your loss’. however, she has said it once and continuing to do so benefits no one.

what i see is someone who was manipulated into a marriage by the charm offensive we know george employs and then emotionally abused throughout that marriage. she is now out of it for a matter of weeks, really. had she come to our shelter, she would still be physically in the shelter at this point receiving daily therapy as well as group therapy.

i suspect she was coerced by george, his family and the lawyers to stand by his side throughout the trial. i see someone who is extremely confused and conflicted who does not yet have clarity on what her own part was in the whole sorry situation that was her marriage. i also see someone who is very scared by the reality of her husband’s true nature, which by virtue of her experience, she is only just beginning to grasp.

she says she has seen the evidence, but it would shock me if she has seen all that we have, only what was presented to her by the trial and o’mara. whether she has the intellectual curiosity to delve further remains to be seen. she is expressing doubts about the acquittal and that is positive step at least. god only knows what it would take for her to acknowledge racism in the family. considering her own upbringing and location, it may take an enormous amount of education for her to see it if she ever does.

i see someone who is now courted by the media and granting interviews, yet the words she puts out is of no real benefit to her or society and would be better spent with a therapist.

does that pretty much cover it? i do appreciate your asking. i had developed a fair amount of analysis of that interview, but had kept it to myself so as to not generate controversy.

          • groans says:

Thanks, faux – you covered enough for one session. (BTW, “talk me down” is a phrase I borrowed from Rachel Maddow.)

      • groans says:

Malisha, I’m not catching your drift here. What’s the new angle about “wife” that you’re seeing? (If you care to elaborate or clarify.) It went right over my head….

    • Dave says:

Shellie’s not looking half bad. She appears to have cut a lot of weight. (Professional makeup and lighting don’t hurt, of course.)

      • looolooo says:

She don’t look half good either. She’s out for money and to keep herself in the spotlight. She’s competing with fogen’s soon to be a “Hustler” centerfold, ex.

She continues to guard her statements, and reveals nothing useful, enlightening or new. She knows that fogen murdered Trayvon, but she will not say it. She has NOT changed. If fogen didn’t ditch her azz, she’d still be his pudgy unemployed minion.

        • Rachael says:

Well he did so she’s not and maybe she has woken up. I wouldn’t say too much either as long as he is around and about. Kind of scary to think wherever he was, he wasn’t able to be found to be served with papers until he was in jail. I bet if he were in prison for good, she’d have plenty to say.

          • Two sides to a story says:

I bet Shellie will reveal more in the future. She did say he “lied about a lot of things” and I think when she feels safe enough, she’ll say more about it.

She seems sincere – time will tell. She doesn’t seem to be going out of her way to court the media – they’re going to her and I’m guessing that attention would be hard to ignore.

  8. Donna says:

    Off the subject but…

Professor, I made a donation in anticipation of the upcoming holiday. Although you didn’t ask, I figured it’s always welcome!

    • Rachael says:

It is really just common sense. It is a progressive thing and it already progressed to where he killed someone. It will happen again. What really pisses me off is his “friend” going on TV everywhere talking about how he is so depressed, suffering from PTSD, but then saying he has every right to keep his guns because boys and their toys, you know. But if he were REALLY a friend, he would get the guns away from him and get him some help for his PTSD.

You know, holidays are especially hard for a lot of people. You know they must be hard for Trayvon’s family. GZ is going to face a holiday season without his wife, no girlfriend, probably no family member who wants him around – maybe really out of fear for their life as well as his effups – and if he is as depressed as ex-gf and Taaffe say, these next few weeks are especially volatile and dangerous – for him and anyone around him. He will kill (or attempt to) again, and it will be sooner rather than later.

      • Trained Observer says:

Well put, Rachael. Fogen’s circle of pseudo-support has diminished along with his bank account. As his frustration over not being the hero he’d hoped to become increases, he’ll resort to more malicious, stupid “look at me, I’m GZ” activity.

      • I do not believe anything Taaffe says unless it is independently verified by someone who knows what they are talking about.

I do not believe GZ suffers from PTSD.

I do believe GZ is a psychopath who cannot stand to be without a gun and he will kill again, sooner or later.

        • Two sides to a story says:

I think even psychopaths could end up with PTSD, but that’s clearly not Fogen’s root problem.

        • Rachael says:

I agree Professor, but it isn’t about whether he has PTSD or not, it is about “friends.” A real friend would get the guns away and get him some help like yesterday. Instead, Taaffe makes excuses (PTSD, women, etc.) and never once mentions that GZ had a long laundry list before killing an unarmed child and before the trial. A friend would hold him accountable, would get him some help. He has no friends left. He just apparently has Taaffe, who is as sick and twisted – perhaps even more so, than himself. I hope someone is keeping an eye on both of them or who knows what would happen in a drunken brawl.

        • mojo says:

Psychopathy is marked by several psychological characteristics. It is commonly assessed using the Psychopathy Checklist, Revised. Here’s the checklist:

          Facet 1: Interpersonal
          – Glibness/superficial charm
          – Grandiose sense of self-worth
          – Pathological lying
          – Conning/manipulative

          Facet 2: Affective
          – Lack of remorse or guilt
          – Emotionally shallow
          – Callous/lack of empathy
          – Failure to accept responsibility for own actions

          Facet 3: Lifestyle
          – Need for stimulation/proneness to boredom
          – Parasitic lifestyle
          – Lack of realistic, long-term goals
          – Impulsivity
          – Irresponsibility

          Facet 4: Antisocial
          – Poor behavioral controls
          – Early behavioral problems
          – Juvenile delinquency
          – Revocation of conditional release
          – Criminal versatility

          Other Factors
          – Many short-term marital relationships
          – Promiscuous sexual behavior

Sounds like George Zimmerman to a T

      • Two sides to a story says:

Taafee acknnowledges that Fogen has never thanked him for his “support.” I suspect that Fogen doesn’t necessarily like Taaffe’s “support.”

        • MDH says:

Fogen is a pandering sociopath who uses people to get something he wants and, when that “something” is gone, he throws them away like an old shoe. So why would he thank Taffe?

Taffe is a drunk loser who is using his association with George to gain attention for himself. So he ought to be a bit scared because users like George do not like to be used.

I would not piss on either one if their hearts were on fire.

        • Lynn says:

I doubt Taaffe has had any contact with GZ. In the beginning of the Trayvon issue, Frank went on Nancy Grace talking on and on about GZ this and GZ that. Turns out he had not talked to GZ or had any contact with him since the murder. Why would I think any different now?

  9. i haven’t read every ones comments yet so i apologise if i repeat what others have said or ask any stupid questions but i just wanted to say a few things that have popped into my head before they pop straight out again.

Why the hell is the mother so involved?

Robert Zimmerman Jr is revolting and i want to karate kick my screen whenever i read anything he writes or says.

Sending a screen shot of a sex tape to a 10 year old….why doesn’t it surprise me that he would be capable of it…..hopefully it wasn’t a photo of the actual deed, just a photo with enough detail for SS to know where it came from.

Do 10 year olds have their own phones? I’m getting old!

    • MDH says:

I get very tired of this “strict interpretation of the law” excuse.

I read the law and am easily able to make a very detailed argument supporting my position that George was guilty.

She still seems to fail to see that she did not comprehend the meaning of the word “intentional” as it pertains to manslaughter.

For example, if I got mad and lashed out with my hand at you such that the blow cause you to fall back on to concrete to create a life ending head injury, that would be an intentional act that resulted in your death. It is manslaughter because a slap, arguably, is not an act of a depraved mind with a callous disregard for life.

Now, if I got mad, because you were trying to get away and slapped me in the face, such that I pulled out a gun, took aim, and shot you, then that act would meet the criteria of intentional, ill will, and depraved mind.

The only way, under “strict interpretation of the law” to have found George not guilty was to accept that fairy tale he told as true.

So anyone who found George not guilty believed that he was a truthful source of valid information.

And that says a whole lot about them.

      • willisnewton says:

Very well put but the person whom Maddy “believed” was the foreman of the jury who told her how she “had” to vote.

        • MDH says:

I don’t know whether I should loath or feel sorry for a person who has to be “told” how to think.

In a way, it is a window into the sickness that permeates our landscape. Maddy cowed to the white juror who she deemed as an authority.

And that is how post racial USA works. As long as a person of color accepts and goes along with what whites deem as good behavior, they are “free” from racism.

          • willisnewton says:

Again, very well put. I concur that “post-racial” Amerikkka is a very sad place in need of a lot of evolving still. And it’s everywhere, not just the cess pool that is Florida.

      • texad says:

Maddy, aka juror B29, is having a crisis of conscious. She chose to side with “the other” and now realizes that by doing so she put a lot of people in harm’s way-inclludng her own chidren of color. She left her common sense outside the door of the jury deliberation room and was influenced to believe that a typical 17 year old who made an uneventful purchase at a 7-11 store turned into an MMA style streetfighting thug in less than 30 minutes for no reason at all.

She now knows that the killer of 17 year old Trayvon Martin was in fact an angry wife abuser who had just been left alone to deal with his anger by the wife he abused. Maddy probably cannot sleep at night because she knows the next person harmed by GZ will be because of her cowardice. She can give a thousand interviews and that fact will never change.

She would do well stop giving interviews and instead become familiar with the life, regret, and atonement of Friedrich Gustav Emil Martin Niemöller, a German anti-Nazi theologian and Lutheran pastor: He said:
“First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—
        because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
        because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
        because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
        because I was not a Jew;
        Then they came for me—
and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

        • Two sides to a story says:

Actually, I think it’s probably best that she does speak out – it’s sad she couldn’t come to this conclusion before the verdict was rendered, but by speaking out she influences the thinking of others who might have done the same thing and she probably cleanses some of the karmic responsibility she took on by not holding out.

      • Drew says:

Sadly, Te-nehisi Coates of the Atlantic claims that if he were on the jury, given the evidence presented, he would have found GZ not guilty as well.

So even smart folks were duped, or something.

        • That “or something” might be the prosecution’s failure to do its job and the judge’s failure to do her’s and control the defense.

        • Two sides to a story says:

I feel that the “or something” includes not closely examining all the interviews and evidence closely (it takes days or weeks, not 16 hours!!!) and that was certainly helped along by the prosecution’s less that stellar performance.

          • MDH says:

IMO, a good prosecution would have focused on how the forensic evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the testimony of George introduced as evidence is rife with lies that are a clear attempt to spin a “fear for my life” scenario out of whole cloth.

A lot was not hammered home.

George has an ugly shaped head wherein the occipital region juts out. IOW, it is the tip of a hammer and an area where logic mandates any injury due to a slam would occur.

The photos show that his injuries were in a region just inside his male pattern bald spot. Oooooops.

A planar surface {top bone of his head} can not be marked if its is at a right angle to concrete. Which is the case when one is lying on their back.

Ah, but if one is shrimping to get back up, then the head and back are rotated to create an arch that would cause the top of the head to brush the concrete. The expected wound would be an abrasion. Well duh.

That’s another reason he let his hair grow long for the trial.

As far as I am concerned, a lot of so-called smart people need to take stock of themselves in that they let a two bit, not too bright con artist fool them.

        • MDH says:

Another factor is how the so-called reasonable and rational defenders of George dismiss all the holes in his story as minor inconsistent problems because reasonable is a low evidence standard. That just shows they are math challenged.

I will keep this kind of simple.

          A coin flip is 50:50.

What are the chances of a coin being flipped heads three straight times?

          12.5%

or 1/2 raised to the third power.

Georges story has a lot of inconsistent aspects that would have to be explained by acts with a probability of 10%

It there are five aspects, each of which has only a 10% chance of being true based on common sense or science, then the possibility that his entire tale is true falls to 1/10 raised to the fifth power.

0.01% is not a standard that raises reasonable doubt.

It would be one thing to acquit George because you think one inconsistent statement is possible.

For example, maybe the lack of blood on concrete is a 10% possibility.

However Georges defense is based on a series of possible that, when taken in aggregate, are a fantasy.

          • Reasonable doubt is not about the quantity of evidence; it’s about the quality of the evidence. Therefore, you cannot define it mathematically.

Standard definition: Reasonable doubt is such a doubt as would exist in the mind of a reasonable person after fully and fairly considering all of the evidence or lack of evidence.

For example, a defendant could be found not guilty based on absence of evidence.

          • MDH says:

IOW, my argument is based on the possibility of George’s story being true having the same odds as buying one lottery ticket and winning one million dollars.

So that takes care of George’s story providing any evidence of a life threating situation mandating the murder of another.

The ample forensic evidence, taken alone, proves beyond a reasonable doubt there was a minor scuffle that produced no life threatening injuries mandating the murder of another.

George admitted that he shot TM. So that absolutely proves he intentionally did an act that caused the death of another.

So I fail to see how a smart person, given the evidence presented, can not find George guilty.

            What?

            “Oh, I believed Donnelly”

All that does is prove the believer is not that bright.

I have yet to see one of these Zimmerman defenders make a case that George’s story is believable via comparing it with forensic evidence in detail.

If they did, then they would have to defend, among many other things, cuts on the top of the head being the product of a man lying on his back having his head repeatedly slammed.

Finding George guilty creates not one discrepancy with the forensic evidence and also fits the eye witness testimony.

Truth has a way of doing that.

People can say SS is pond scum for trying to cash in on money from interviews, but IMO this lady has no room to talk. One day she’s feeding her poor children off the floor in front of the camera trying to get sympathy, and the next she’s flying to NYC and sipping out of GMA mugs.

She has showed her ignorance by sticking to the strict law excuse. She wants us to believe she has such respect for these laws that she had to vote not guilty. Yet now, she hasn’t even heard ANY evidence and she is ready to assist God in His condemning.
Please, lady, show us a little more of your ignorance of the justice system.

I’m wondering if that’s true acemayo, the Zimmerman’s have a way of spreading lies, if Schribe is going to set something up why include possible child abuse (possibly showing sex acts to a minor) she could also get in trouble as she should. However if they are fully clothed and making kissy face (YUK) it’s not a big deal as long as it’s not over the top.

      • towerflower says:

I have a feeling that Z knew exactly what he was doing when he sent the text to SS and then her child. But knowing what he does about the law I bet it was PG and not X rated, but it sent as a threat to SS. Do what I want or she sees the rest, remember what I have.

How someone could be so stupid to make a sex tape with another they are only in the beginnings of a relationship is beyond me.

        • fauxmccoy says:

          @towerflower — you are right.

that picture is a direct threat and means to control, but likely not a prosecutable offense. that’s what abusers do.

GZ was so traumatized by murdering TM that he was hitting on the female PO, dogging his wife, and cracking jokes about having to shoot a person who did not do as he told.

For some strange reason, I would like to use Taffe to demonstrate that an elbow strike is a far better option than 20 to 30 MMA style blows, when one has the mount position.

    • I cannot respect any show that invites Frank Taaffe on as a guest.

        • Rachael says:

Why don’t any of these people who have FT on remind him that a GZ had a rather extensive history of “antics” long before he killed Trayvon? If everything after Trayvon is PTSD, what was everything before Trayvon?

          • towerflower says:

He has excuses for all of them and changes the facts. Like when the cop is brought up he says it was a private frat party–wrong it was a bar–and the cop assaulted him first and he was defending his friend. With his ex fiancée, he dismisses it saying he also had an order of protection against her and she was the violent one.

He will throw out an excuse for everything and everyone always has an agenda against poor George. Even with this one he said on Nancy Grace that the girlfriend was in cahoots with Shellie who is in cahoots with the media to get George. He says that everything now, including the traffic tickets, are the fault of the media.

          • Two sides to a story says:

No doubt he would have a multi-layered diagnosis if he’d ever get one. Definitely shows some signs of narcissism or sociopathy, perhaps bipolar as well. Of course he was diagnosed as ADHD – some people with that diagnosis are actually bipolar, or if they truly have severe ADHD, have real difficulty with impulse control – that is very clear in his actions!

          • Two sides to a story says:

Sounds like Piers tried to – couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

          • Drew says:

If the media was so against George, why were they so successfully able to use media day in and day out to depict TM as the thug?

The real world and Mitch Albom are like matter and anti-matter. Never will the two meet till the end of time. And this guy is considered a great journalist. My father told me that a great journalist had to live what he wrote. Mitchy, on the other hand, listens on the radio, and makes up that he was there 🙂

      • Trained Observer says:

FYI, Mitch Albom is a former Sun-Sentinel sports writer out of South Florida. Apart from being a best-selling author multiple times, he’s highly respected among his journalism peers, not only for deadline sports coverage and more introspective pieces on topics like the Sandusky molestation mess.

      • Dave says:

Mirch Albom is a vile scab. He crossed picket lines from Day One of the long and bitter Detroit newspaper lockout/strike back in the 90’s. I have nothing but contempt for this POS and I suspect that the same holds true for the most of the journalism peers whom he betrayed back then.

        • MDH says:

My problem with Mitch is that his writing about what goes on in the City of Detroit is derivative stereotypical, and speaks of a man who has not clue about real streets.

He should stick to children’s books.

    • racerrodig says:

I don’t know. Nooo Wait…yes it is. Most of it we do know.

    • MDH says:

The problem with Mitch’s article is it is a tome to not bring up the primary factor that led to the death of Martin and McBride – the institutional racism that backs up a defacto apartheid system under the guise of protecting property values.

That area of Detroit and Dearborn were regions that were “understood” to not allow any blacks after dark with John Law giving a hard lesson to those who needed to “understand”.

After the election of Coleman Young in 1973, the new apartheid system relegated black people to Detroit and whites to the suburbs.

Although people are allowed to roam more freely today, the mental attitudes of those who accepted this apartheid under the guise of “property values” still exist and are dying off slowly.

I strongly recommend this book for anyone who wants to get an understanding of why Metro Detroit is the mess it presently is:

The Origins of the Urban Crisis: Race and Inequality in Postwar Detroit by Thomas J. Sugrue.

      • MollyK says:

I grew up in Detroit. Dearborn was well-known as a white enclave. For many years Orville Hubbard was mayor and he was an overt bigot who worked hard to exclude blacks. He even established “Camp Dearborn” in the far Detroit outskirts so that Dearborn residents could have all-white recreation facilities, and arranged for the purchase of a high-rise in Florida where retired Dearborn residents could live.

        • MDH says:

I had one uncle who worked for the Ford Motor Company who lived in Dearborn. Yea, that is how they rolled over there.

My section of NW Detroit had a huge contingent of Wallace Democrats back around 1968 to 1973. Put it this way, I believe I was the only kid on the block who did not have parents who thought telling N jokes was cute.

My mother attended the Detroit School for the Deaf and had black classmates because that institution was integrated. Her mother taught English in the Paradise Valley public schools. Paradise Valley was the designated black neighborhood on the East Side of Detroit back when Jimmy Cagney was making movies that George used to come up with some of his fake dialog 🙂

My father never believed in racism. He told me it was bunk made up to divide people against each other so rich men could make money. Smart man, IMO.

          • MollyK says:

Where were you in nw Detroit? I grew up near Wyoming/Schoolcraft, and when I was a teenager we lived near Greenfield/Grand River. My parents were also among the few who were not racist.

          • MDH says:

            @mollyk

I grew up in the section south and west of Seven Mile and Lahser. They called it “little Brightmoor”. I did used to play a lot of baseball with my friends who lived in the real Brightmoor.

Yes, when I was attending Christ the King, our third grade home room teacher actually told us that MLK deserved to be shot. I told her she ought to be ashamed of herself in that a Catholic School is supposed to follow the New Testament and the teachings of JC. For that outburst, I was not considered popular.

This same homeroom teacher would also make us sing the Green Beret song from that lame movie starring John Wayne.

I can also tell you all that Ted Nugent graduated from Christ the King in the early 1960s. So it is kind of easy to see what molded that ass clown.

Today, Christ the King soldiers on as a very decent little primary school with an enrollment of almost 100% African American.

My mother used to help teach the kids arts and crafts. We buried her out of that Parish.

One of the crafts was to crochet little Jesus shapes. When the wife of the uncle from Dearborn saw that some of the Jesus figures had brown or dark brown faces, she got in an argument with my mom about how Jesus was not black.

            So I got to ask.

            Does racism make people stupid?

          • I don’t know if it makes people stupid, but people certainly have to be selfish, ignorant and stupid to be racists.

          • Malisha says:

            “Does racism make people stupid?”

No. But it makes them stupidER.

    • Malisha says:

Well we DON’T know there ever really was a King Louis XIV in France either, do we?

  13. Sam Bailey, beautiful version of a beautiful song:

  14. MDH says:

Kind of off topic, but this latest debacle has seemed to convinced more people that George’s MO is being an after the fact liar trying to fit a story to cover the truth about one of his violent acts.

That said, this may help Shipping Bao get a more sympathetic ear as to how he can prove that George was the murderer with forensic evidence.

IMO, the experts here had it down pretty good and a book telling the real truth would sell.

The diagrams provided by LmPPa are outstanding.

Hell, the data one can glean from this site would produce a book that would show how sorry ass anyone who thought GZ was innocent based on evidence really is. The damn shot can not be made as George made it up, unless George has arm bones that can bend like silly putty.

At first, I thought that GZ killed TM in a fit of rage.

There were people here who have had the opinion that GZ taunted TM before he shot him .

I am now of that view.

    • Drew says:

To be honest, we are considered conspiracy theorists to many.

Especially after the acquittal, which apparently causes lies to turn true.

I don’t know how well a book like that would do in quietly racist, colorblind America.

      • MDH says:

That is because a lot of white people would have to admit that Black Americans were better at analyzing real data to apply simple geometry than they were.

This shit brings our country down.

George Zimmerman, a less than nothing with no talent, who could not balance a checkbook, let alone do simple trigonometry, is allowed to take the potential that TM offered away from us.

It is like the USA feels that there is this very narrow segment of society with a very narrow set of tastes and views that are the be-all and end-all of everything who legitimize everybody else. And it is not restricted to conservatives.

I get amused when Daily Kos runs a thread on best guitar players. Invariably it will be a long list of white axe men in the very restricted genre of rock blues, with a smattering of non-white players who have the stamp of white approval.

        Enjoy the tune.

I saw TV interviews with SS’s neighbors at the scene Monday, saying that they thought/assumed the fogen was some sort of Cop/Police officer or neighborhood watch person.

I want to know MORE about WHY they thought that. What was he doing to give so many people that impression of him?

It was also nice to FINALLY see so many white neighbors say that they think that fogen has been allowed to get away with murdering a kid, and numerous violent past behaviors have been unpunished.

I’m surprised the media allowed those comments to air. And naturally none of the TV presenters have picked up on those comments and investigated further.

      Someone must have noticed.

      • Trained Observer says:

Yes … and where did he move it to … the back yard, the patio, someone else’s home? Or did it all fit in his shruck?

      • Lynn says:

My daughter and I discussed this and had same questions. Neighbors said they barely saw him. Had to have taken a few hours to load up a truck with furniture, clothes, and food. Could he load even small furniture on his truck alone? The mom mentions how he came to her house a couple times and soon after they apologized to each other and he brought the furniture back. Did he just live in his truck and eat her food out of the back during those few days?

        • Two sides to a story says:

I used to have a large two-bedroom apartment with basic furninture that I could break down and easily move myself – mostly in one or two truckloads and pretty quickly too. So I can see how he might swiftly fill his truck and take off with a good pile of stuff temporarily.

Or he may have called in the mysterious movers that took all of the Dean’s furniture. They’re a stealth bunch. lol

One question: what ten year old has a cell phone? Is this a confirmed age of the child?

    • Two sides to a story says:

Lots of kids of Gen X have cell phones at young ages.

      • towerflower says:

My son got his first one at 12, it was a good tracking tool as long as he had the phone on him.

        • Two sides to a story says:

I think a lot of young parents allow their young kids to carry cell phones for that reason. They feel it’s a safety issue.

    • fauxmccoy says:

hey willis, good to see you, man!

i made sure my kids had cellphones at that age, nothing too high tech, but enough for me to be able to contact them as well as to determine their location.

as a disabled woman looking after youngsters in a major metropolis (san jose) it was just one tool available to me to keep things running smoothly at home.

lots of 10 year olds have them at this point, for a variety of reasons.

    • MollyK says:

My son didn’t get one until he was 12, and he was by far the last of his friends to have one. It’s very, very common for 10-yo to have them.

    • elle says:

My son was on a traveling hockey team since he was six. If he had not had a cellphone, I would have lost my mind. Our lives would have been so much more difficult.

  18. fauxmccoy says:

in my experience with bi-polars with paranoid tendencies, they will admit to their depression because it is more debilitating for them. less often will they admit to their mania. i expect that even if george was getting help, he would have been misdiagnosed and thus received medication that would not really benefit him. anti-depressants do not resolve the plight of much more serious illnesses.

i do not necessarily hold SS and mom to blame for trying to sell their story. if you look at george’s request for indigency, he claims to have access to $144. out of all the money he had received, that is what he has in his pocket today. undoubtedly the new girlfriend was footing the bill for george’s very existence. can you even imagine footing that food bill? i would be desperate enough to do anything!

this is just the latest in a string of vulnerable women, ripe for picking on to the chronic abuser that is george. i hope SS keeps her shit together, cooperates with the prosecutor and that gz can be put away. i know that DV is now considered a crime against the state in florida and will be prosecuted if enough evidence exists. this will go forward with our without SS’s cooperation. in the old days, if the victim did not want to press charges (usually out of fear) the case was dropped. now, the case goes forward, regardless, but is much more compelling in court when the victim is cooperative.

this only reinforces my long held belief that shellie was a victim of DV (whether or not any beating occurred). i am hoping that more here are now willing to consider this.

whether anyone feels sympathetic towards either shellie or SS is beside the point. one need not feel sympathy for the abused, what is critical to society that DV not be condoned or that any victim is written off as ‘deserving’ what happened.

(steps off the DV advocacy soapbox)

    • lurker says:

      Thanks.

I would just throw in that antidepressants can be a fairly dangerous prescription for folks with bipolar disorder–throwing them into mania. GZ’s cross-country trek with guns, not to mention his little heroic escapade certainly have the look of mania to them.

      • Rachael says:

        Good point and true

      • Two sides to a story says:

Some slight mania, possibly, in his act of constantly patrolling RTL and chasing people around. I have several relatives with bipolar. It’s not the sort of thing that you want to own firearms with and certainly not appropriate for someone who wants to be cop. Great for creative endeavors though – many artists of all stripes are bipolar.

      • fauxmccoy says:

you are correct. his behavior suggests the same to me too, lurker. no competent psychiatrist would over look that. while i am not competent to make any diagnosis, it is certainly what the disease looks like at its worst. i’m sure whatever medical evaluation he submitted was sub par. any ‘doc in the box’ would hand out anti-depressants like candy, depending what story was presented. it’s doubtful he received a thorough, clinical evaluation.

    • MollyK says:

I agree that Shellie may well have been abused, at least verbally/emotionally. I’ve thought this ever since I heard the jailhouse telephone conversations.

    • Malisha says:

Oh I agree with you on prosecution and punishment. I was just withholding my sympathy for his various female romantic victims, because they displayed their contempt and disdain for Trayvon Martin and his family.

    • Girlp says:

Thats problem in my state too many people accept DV…She must have done something to make him mad. So what if she did it does not give a man the right to beat you , belittle you, threaten you, leave you can always separate or divorce.

    • Tzar says:

I said it before and I will say it again: It will come to light that they set free an honest to goodness crazy person because he only murdered an innocent black child

@tzar — at this point, i hardly care what puts him behind bars for a good long time, with a felony conviction that will prevent legal gun ownership for the rest of his natural life. i just hope that the day arrives soon, the world will be a better place for it.

the irony, however, could be cut with a knife. kill a young black kid, well, boys’ll be boys. point a gun at the white flower of southern womanhood and get hauled off to jail.

i do hope the prosecutor can make this stick though.

  21. towerflower says:

Something just occurred to me and got me thinking. There has been some speculation that forgen is suffering from PTSD, even Samantha talks about his depression. It has come up on the HLN shows and even Taffee says this.

Now why wouldn’t a man who suffered from PTSD get the mental health that he needs? The answer is if he does and the diagnosis comes up as PTSD then he would lose the ability to have his concealed license and he could never buy another gun. PTSD falls into being “mentally defective”. I believe he is well aware of this and as such refuses to be seen by a doctor.

    • lurker says:

I don’t think so. My understanding of the gun laws is that one needs to be adjudicated in order to be considered unfit for weaponry. That means that a court of law reviewed evidence to declare that someone is a danger to self or others. Not easy and it doesn’t happen that often. Nor should it be easy to remove someone’s rights.

However, there are lots of people walking around with all kinds of diagnosed and undiagnosed mental health conditions.

I believe that Loughner (the guy who shot Gabby Gifford) was NOT ajudicated even though, if I am recalling correctly, his parents may have made the attempt.

IMO, we need some kind of legal middle ground to define folks who have a mental health condition that severely impedes their ability to make rational treatment decisions without having to go the full route of danger to self or others. I have known far too many families who could only watch helplessly as a loved one “decompensated” hoping that they would hit that magic mark of danger to self or others, but to do so without actually harming themselves or others.

Then, of course, we would need treatment options. Something sorely lacking.

Reality is, our pathological Mr. Zimmerman is far more likely to end up in prison than in mental health treatment.

      • Rachael says:

IMO, he is severely mentally ill.

        • lurker says:

          No argument there.

But, the sad and sorry truth is we don’t put much resource toward caring for the mentally ill.

      • towerflower says:

I looked up Loughner in Wikipedia and from what it says he nor his parents sought a medical evaluation on him, he was asked to get one from the college he attended due to bizarre and disruptive behavior. His friends recall him a pothead who got more and more involved in drugs and alcohol and most thought his behavior was from that. He got his first mental evaluation while awaiting trial.

        Read this article: http://www.gunlawsbystate.com/post-traumatic-stress-disorder-depression-and-possessing-a-firearm-the-basics/

They have this: . Have you ever been adjudicated mentally defective (which includes a determination by a court, board, commission, or other lawful authority that you are a danger to yourself or to other or are incompetent to manage your own affairs) or have you ever been committed to a mental institution?”

Who or what is considered to be a lawful authority?

Now I have heard of some cases of PTSD sufferers who sought help through the VA and had their licenses revoked. I think it will come down to the reporting ability. Can the Doctor report their diagnosis or is everything covered under the HIPA laws. I did some research on this awhile ago and don’t remember everything but one was the different computer systems used, that a person may have been declared mentally defective but the checking LE agency does not have access to the same system.

        • lurker says:

I believe that the NRA would have us believe that there is some grand reporting mechanism by which all dangerous folks can be and are identified. I think that the reality is far from that.

Recall the contractor who just shot up a military base. Multiple people–some in positions of authority–knew that he was hearing voices, and he had apparently even sought treatment. Consider also the VA Tech shooter, who had received mental health treatment but bought guns legally.

Not certain, but I believe that HIPAA has some openings, perhaps even requirements, that work around the doctor-patient relationship in some very specific instances (eg: a patient who tells his therapist, “I am going to kill my mother tonight. I bought a gun this afternoon.”)–and allow reporting to LE.

But, I think that insofar as databases, this would require a ruling in a court of law. Not saying that didn’t happen in the case of Veterans that you know.

I heard recently that the VA doesn’t really even refer to PTSD in the case of returning vets anymore. Essentially their assumption is that all returning vets are affected.

          • towerflower says:

lurker, in VA there was a loop hole for the VA Tech shooter which has since been closed. He was deemed dangerous to himself and others but ordered into outpatient treatment while VA law at the time did not require the notification of outpatient treatment.

Here is a federal study done of HIPAA laws and dealing with mental defectiveness. http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R43040.pdf

“A hearing must be afforded to comport with due process, and the burden is on the state. How does or could this account for PTSD? Supposed a person has severe PTSD and it acting irrationally. This person has never been diagnosed, let alone been committed or adjudicated as mentally defective to trigger the federal preclusion of a prohibited person. Under the state provisions civil provisions, if a state has such, a person may have their firearms removed and be prohibited from purchasing or possession firearms until a hearing.”

          Due process is required.

      • Malisha says:

Prison, however, may be out of the question as an option because the juries are made up of people whose mental health makes Fogen’s look quite all right!

    • Lynn says:

SS says he saw a doctor and was given meds for his bouts of sadness and depression as she calls it. The Doc must have came up with a diagnosis if he prescribed meds. SS says he stopped taking the meds but also tells us he od’ed on sleeping pills. Were those prescribed for him?

I listen to every lawyer on the news media shows bringing up PTSD as an excuse for GZ. After the trial, after the Trayvon, blah, blah, and then they say he suffers from PTSD.
Well, did he have that when he was molesting his cousin?
Or when he smacked around his women for gum chewing?
      Or when he kicked dogs?
Or when he attacked a police officer?
Or when he chased and killed Trayvon?

Stop making excuses for him. He was mentally disturbed his whole life and refuses help. These people don’t lead productive lives and should be placed somewhere away from those they could harm, including themselves.

      • towerflower says:

Lynn, I’m not making excuses for him, I just throwing out why he might not have sought mental health care. The wrong diagnosis and he loses his beloved guns and the ability to carry.

      • lurker says:

I would certainly put PTSD on the laundry list of potential diagnoses–but, I would reach back into his childhood and reportedly abusive mother for the origins.

As I recall, when first interviewed in the Martin crime, he was on some stimulants for ADHD and some kind of sleeping medication (likely to counteract the stimulants so he could sleep).

In my experience, mental health diagnoses are a tricky thing at best. They involve matching assessments of behavior (frequently self-described) with lists of symptomology in the DSM. Differentiating between diagnoses (ADHD and BiPolar Disorder can look very similar, for instance, particularly in children) is not so easy and can change from practitioner to practitioner based on all kinds of things (including, I suggest, their own areas of interest). Medication is also far less specific than one would wish–not every individual responds in the same way. Some meds are issued to deal with side effects of the original–and some folks don’t always take meds as prescribed.

So–I would expect that yes, he was suffering from trauma when all of the above occured. This is far less and excuse, however, than a means by which to understand what has happened, and what is likely to continue to happen without outside intervention.

        • fauxmccoy says:

and then there are many cases where ADHD co-exist with bipolar. it’s a dangerous condition and takes time with a very skilled mental health doctor to sort out the intricacies.

        • Malisha says:

AND much of mental health diagnosis depends upon self-report AND Fogen is a liar.

          • breelee says:

Don’t you have to have been in a very upsetting situation to have PTSD? Wouldn’t you have to have been UPSET? Nether of these questions fit fogen, as he was never upset, never had his vitals go sky high or even move up. I for one, don’t believe a truly evil person like him can suffer PTSD. I also believe he enjoyed murdering Trayvon and all the hoopla that followed.

If he’s depressed, its because he wasn’t in the news and not receiving a steady stream of donations.

          • lurker says:

breelee–I believe it was the cousin, or possibly the former gf that asked for a protection order who had said that his childhood was a bit messed up, and that his mother was abusive and father passive. These folks just ain’t right no matter how you look at them and it seems to have roots both broad and wide. As I take it, they couldn’t stand each other ’til this happened and then they all became thick as thieves–welcoming Robt Jr back and committing perjury on the stand (Mama and Uncle Jorge)–not to mention the whole long string of lies, threats and misperceptions spewed out into the press.

George the adult is certainly responsible for his actions. But, once upon a time there was George the little boy growing up in the midst of all that.

  22. Stormwatch says:

Just another chapter in the Zimmerman story. I’ll be glad when the final one is written. I hope those 6 angry women are all paying very close attention. Their inability to do the right thing is resulting in more people being a victim of this sociopath. Especially that little 10 year old girl.

    • Rachael says:

I am only looking forward to the final chapter if he is the only one who gets hurt. I surely don’t want to think of someone else getting hurt or killed because he is still on the loose.

  23. Tzar says:

you know what….creepy weirdo does not begin to cover this dude.

  24. Tzar says:

The most troubling part of the interview involves a still-photo from a sex video showing Scheibe and Zimmerman having sex.

also I need to add, *BARF*
    and *barf*

    and then *vomit*

    • Lynn says:

Yeah, I threw up a little in my mouth, but that is not the worse part. I can’t see a tripod held camera being able to get a view of anything beyond GZ’s mass physique…so, I keep picturing his bodyguard filming it. Ewwwww!

    • To be clear, I do not know if the photo actually shows them having sex as opposed to it being a photograph of them while they were having sex, but for one reason or another what they were actually doing is not clear.

Either way, it’s a terrible thing to do to a 10-year-old child.

What does the mother say, when the child asks, “Mommy, what’s this?”

Cops need to examine that photo, pronto!

  25. Tzar says:

Zimmerman sent it to Scheibe’s 10-year-old daughter.

May I just say…WHAT IN THE ENTIRE FUCK?!!!??

  26. MollyK says:

Does anyone know the status of the civil suit that Trayvon’s parents were considering? Their position at this point seems even stronger than it was at the time of the criminal trial. Not that GZ has anything to sue for, but a judgment against him would at least preclude the possibility of his writing a book and getting rich from the crime.

  27. Boyd says:

why would 6 women try to screw over George Zimmerman?

    First GF
    Cousin
    Shelly and her mother.
    Samatha and her mother.

What the f is the matter with the justice system down there.

  28. ay2z says:

All this began with the fight the soon-to-be-killer and his wife had, she left and he was upset and within a day, Trayvon was dead.

  29. ay2z says:

One nagging qestion, why did they want money for national media interviews? If the point was something other, to get attention so to keep Schiebe safer as reported, why go for the money? His lawyers will destroy her on this point if this ever goes to court.

    • This is a blow to her credibility, but the 911 call pretty much validates itself because she is describing events as they occur and he can be heard in the background.

Her statements are admissible as excited utterances and present sense impressions (exceptions to the hearsay rule).

His statements in his 911 call are not admissible because they are classic examples of self-serving hearsay that would be offered to prove the truth of the matters that he asserted during the call.

    • Trained Observer says:

Fogen, deprived of his guns and likely stressed over it, has plenty of opportunity to get into far deeper trouble between now and his Jan. 7 domestic arraignment.

      • Malisha says:

Uh oh, Fogen better go back to Kokopoopoo Gym and brush up on his “shrimping.”

        • groans says:

Yes, “Softie” will need to be reminded that there are many ways to defend oneself without a gun. (Amazing how so many of us are still alive without ever having one!)

    • Boyd says:

after all those people who went on TV during the 2 OJ trials.

And Zimmerman himself doing the same thing to bury the child.

      .

  30. Malisha says:

HA HA if he went to prison, the Black prisoners would hate him because of what he did to Trayvon Martin and the white prisoners would hate him because he’s a damn pedophile. HA HA HA HA HA!! Nobody could deserve the hatred more than he does!

  31. Donna says:

I have no doubts of what GZ did to Shellie. I havemany doubts as to what is going on with Samantha, her mom and this “intimate” photo.

If he did indeed send it to her daughter, it lends more credence to his cousin’s story, doesn’t it?

  32. MollyK says:

Has anyone seen the photo text, or do we only have SS’ word that he sent it? It would be easy enough for the police to get the cell phone records. If he did send this, it would seem to go beyond even regular laws on exposing children to pornography, given that the child’s mother was in the photo.

If he did this, then it is really incredible that she took him back, especially if the child lives with her.

Did anyone else find her 911 call strange? The parts where she addresses GZ, and supposedly narrates what is happening (table breaking, gun in her face, etc.). Somehow it doesn’t ring true.

    • Boyd says:

so the piling up of furniture is not true?

I’m surprised he had the strength move furniture around considering how he was describe as a weakling in court. Last time I saw furniture stacked up was in World war Z.

I think the scumbag pyschopath needs to find stupid women and live off of them because his family does not want to be near him.

This picture which can be easily proven, I see a connection between that and his cousin accusing him of raping her when she was little. I think the scumbag wanted to abuse Scheid’s daughter sexually.

      • MollyK says:

If he did actually send the photo, then it seems clear that he was interested in molesting the child. This gives further support to the cousin’s claims that he molested her (this story always rang true to me).

        • fauxmccoy says:

sending the picture would not necessarily indicate any desire to molest the child, although it may. it is more likely a tool he uses to control the mother’s behavior. that is, ‘do what i want or i’ll mess up your kid’. if the picture was sexual in nature, it is certainly child abuse, but again we cannot infer from that act alone that a desire to molest the child exists.

    • Jennifer says:

No I do believe her 911 was as accurate as she was telling it! At the beginning of the call you can hear something hard being broken! The fact that GZ locked her out and barricaded himself inside speaks volume! Him calling 911 to tell his “truth” ” for lack of a better word “, his girlfriend “going crazy” on him brings as back to this Trayvon Martin 911 call he made reporting “the suspicious” behavior! He creates his own defense through 911 because with those tapes he is not forced to go on the stand and defend himself! Him according to the girlfriend “he knows how to play this game” Call her shady but I do agree with her on that one!

      • MollyK says:

I was thinking about the speculation that SS and GZ staged the confrontation to get attention. I find it beyond strange that she and her mother were trying to get an interview on national TV for money.

        • Boyd says:

and I count a total of 6 women who have accused him of something. Starting wth first GF and cousin. if 6 women can say he did this to me and the Justice system pretends they need “the perfect” evidence, then women will always have a problem with DV. I don’t know what else to say

          • MollyK says:

You’re probably right. I was so taken aback by SS and her mother’s behavior that I started to wonder.

          • Rachael says:

Boyd, you left out his own mother, when he turned off her electricity and locked the box. There is a lot there we do not know.

    • Two sides to a story says:

I didn’t find it strange – it rang true to me because stuff said in the heat of the moment is often chaotic.

    • groans says:

The parts where she addresses GZ, and supposedly narrates what is happening (table breaking, gun in her face, etc.). Somehow it doesn’t ring true.

I know what you mean, MollyK.

Soooooo…… He knows she’s on the phone with police. He hears her describing “live” events “in real time.” She’s downright narrating the news story while it’s happening. (Wow! How dramatic is that?!)

Yet the violent and dangerous man doesn’t grab the phone from her and throw it somewhere. Neither does he grab the phone from her to “let everybody know the TRUTH!” No, no, no…. Danger man patiently waits for HIS turn to call 911.

After all, he first must tend to the matter of locking her out of her own home. Wait, wait – that’s so average and merely adequate. Before telling his side of the story he must also BARRICADE the door. YEAH … That’s it! … That’s the ticket!!

Next, Danger Man must also put his guns away. He doesn’t want to defend that barricade he just erected, or anything like that. Oh, no! Even in his fit of rage, he is, first and foremost, a responsible gun owner … right?

Only after all those chores are taken care of does Danger Man take HIS turn at addressing the “national media” and REALLY juice up the story. And, also … imagine the luck!! GF had taken a house key outside with her.

So, thanks to both of their cool heads in such violent and volatile situation, no one was injured.

You know, last night I bit down hard on this – hook, line, and sinker. Tonight, not so much. And the change has a lot to do with what I learned tonight from Orlando Channel 6, thanks to Fred.

      • groans says:

Also, it did strike me odd even yesterday that GF didn’t want to share TOO many details, because … yup … she was expecting her call to be made public. That “presence of mind” definitely evoked a “say what?” reaction in my mind.

And, of course Danger Man’s stated purpose of speaking to the public (“everyone”) stood out to all of us, I think. We weren’t surprised because we already KNOW he’s a manipulator.

But maybe we’ve got a couple of schemers here…?

I don’t know. I’m just stepping back a bit to wait and see more, because this Channel 6 development … hmmmmmm.

  33. totalfreedom1 says:

Sending pron to a minor is HUGE! He;s screwed. What an idiot!

    • totalfreedom1 says:

      Mixed up words there…porn…

And also, what person with a daughter of 10 would have exposed them to a child killer?

      • lurker says:

Victimization can be very difficult to comprehend. I would imagine that his wooing process really rubbed in a lot of “you’re different. The rest of the world doesn’t understand me, but you do. I would be lost without you. You kept me from killing myself.”

Remember, he’s a pathological liar. And apparently he is good at it.

        • fauxmccoy says:

ding ding ding ding … all he needs to do is find someone extremely vulnerable to charm initially then all of his bad habits and patterns of abuse repeat themselves.

this samantha lady made some tragic mistakes as a woman/mother, but abusers like george look for people just like this. i, for one, like to keep the blame squarely placed on the one who is actively abusing.

          • Two sides to a story says:

At least SS and her mother are responding appropriately and talking at this point, but shame on them for not doing something sooner.

          • fauxmccoy says:

i know that in my own case of growing up in a home with a mentally ill father (who i loved until his death) that my mom continued to try to make the best of it for way toooo long. it was only when my dad had a total breakdown from reality and held me hostage with a gun did she get herself together enough to get us all out.

having seen this first hand and WAY to many times in my work at the women’s shelter, this happes, you and i both know it does. i give her credit, actually, for getting out in a matter of months. this is better than average if we can remove our feelings about GZ from the equation.

          • Two sides to a story says:

Fauxie – I grew up under similar circumstances and had problems in relationships with some doozy men myself. I gradually developed some boundaries and 0 tolerance for BS . My younger kids have led a much better life because of it – my older ones suffered more from my trying to cope too long in dysfunctional relationships. So I guess I should be a bit more patient with SS and her mother.

          • fauxmccoy says:

i know — it is easy to focus on our feelings toward him. his family, well, they can all go to hell as far as i care. i do feel bad for the women he’s had in his life though. i am sure he can turn on the charm when he wants. i’m sure they were all sucked in by lies and false pretenses … and then he abuses them.

        • On that suicide thing, where he apparently pointed the gun at himself…it’s amazing he didn’t simply shoot her.

  34. Trained Observer says:

As for Samantha and her mom: More opportunistic scum floats to the surface.

    • Shirking Violet says:

No wonder George felt right at home. He comes from a family of opportunists, liars, and enablers.

    • groans says:

Sounds the same to me, TO.

GF and HER MOM have been scheming for publicity for the past, what, three weeks? That can only help CAC’s defense, it would seem to me.

Talking to a reporter rather than reporting anything to police. Main goal is to get a “national” interview. That didn’t work out. And now – suddenly – they’ve got tons of “national” attention for all their sorry asses.

Is this case really headed anywhere likely to achieve any societal benefit?

  35. Trained Observer says:

@KS — Fogen’s courting real trouble over any actions with minor daughter. This could be key in getting him put away.

  36. Trained Observer says:

Fogen sends an adult photo to a 10-year-old?

Before it’s all over, DCF could be involved. There’s more than one way to get this pervert behind bars.

    • towerflower says:

To me and from what I understand, once Samantha made the accusation about the text to her daughter it seems that the police and/or DCF would have to investigate that. Florida does charge in sexting cases.

      • Trained Observer says:

This calamity could give the 10-year-old’s father opportunity to get full custody …. who wants their kid exposed to Fogen, with or without porny pix?

      • lurker says:

And even if Florida should drop the ball, I believe he has crossed into federal territory on that one.

  37. Jennifer says:

He is a sicko! Psychopath, narcasist, manipulator, lier. Obviously the mother and the girlfriend were probably looking for a payday! How can he send such graphic material to a child? He is disgusting!

  38. Malisha says:

SS deserves Fogen; Fogen deserves SS; neither SS’s daughter nor any future child to whom SS may give birth deserves either of them. Now, I’ll need to go pluck out my eyes and cut off my ears.

  39. ks says:

Very interesting. SS and her mom seem shady as all get out BUT, what’s important is that they were communicating with the reporter AS THINGS WERE HAPPENING and not after the fact. It’s clear the reporter has a chronology/history of events with various texts and other messages. I’d also think that the thing with the minor daughter is a crime itself. Wow.

    • If the incident occurred as described, Zimmerman used blackmail and extortion to punish and “persuade” Scheibe to return to him.

      • You all have thoughtful comments says:

This gives me insight on how gz possibly gets family and “friends” like Frank Taaffe to advocate for him.

        • lurker says:

Frank Taaffe has a boatload of his own issues. I would suggest that he is most likely an alcoholic, possible drug addict and totally immersed in denial about the loss of his sons.

          • MollyK says:

What happened to his sons? I seem to remember that one son was killed in a car accident, but I didn’t know that he’d lost more than one.

          • Rachael says:

If I remember correctly, his other son committed suicide – or maybe it was a drug overdose. But both of his sons are dead. He has a couple brothers and IDK, lots of family members with DUIs and cocaine related stuff, and Frank himself has a history of DV. Here is some of his criminal history:

            http://www.lipstickalley.com/showthread.php?t=536258

      • ks says:

Yep. GZ’s probably in more trouble than he knows.

      • ay2z says:

Well, last time he tried to go be a hero and take out his anger on an innocent kid, and satisfied his ‘want’ to kill someone and get away with it.

Last time reminder with ‘Sname’, an LLMPapa production par excellence,. His cover-up using others to lie and use semantics to decieve by his own words.

Samantha said in her 911 call, ‘he knows how ‘ to do this and we know it worked beautifuly well to set him free. And the lessons of Zuazu and her little dog, violence, kick the dog, slap the woman, then when she files an injunction, he picks up pen and does the same back at her. (sound familiar? she calls 911, he does the same thing)

    • roderick2012 says:

“Very interesting. SS and her mom seem shady as all get out BUT”

Doesn’t that describe everyone associated with Piglet?

His BBF Osterman gets fired because he ‘forgets’ to ask for permission to moonlight.

His father and brother are ranting racist lunatics and his brother doesn’t have a job.

His gym instructor who perjured himself is accussed of assaulting a woman earlier this year and may go to trial soon.

His most vocal supporter DUI Taffee is an alcoholic pot smoking racist.

His soon to be ex wife is an admitted perjurer.

Yeah George surrounds himself with some high class folks.

      • MollyK says:

I’m willing to give Shellie some slack. The dynamics of her relationship to GZ were clear from the jailhouse telephone calls – she was under his thumb, and his treatment of her was dismissive, bordering on contemptuous. It looks lke she is about to escape the marriage, and I hope she is able to rebuild her life.

      • looolooo says:

And none of that seemed to have been outed in court. He’s had a lifetime of negative Police contact, Trayvon had none, yet he was successfully painted as the “bad guy”? Tears, tears, and more tears.

  40. Shirking Violet says:

Do you expect we’ll ever see a Federal indictment for the alleged text(s)?

Ironic that he could do far more time on those charges than he would on the domestic violence case.

    • lurker says:

The fact that he sent it using email tosses it immediately into the federal realm.

      • lurker says:

sorry, I guess it was a text, but I do believe that is still considered interstate commerce.

      • Shirking Violet says:

Right, that’s why I said *federal* indictment. 🙂 Just wondering how likely it is that charges will result and most importantly, how difficult will it be to make them stick.

        • MollyK says:

If he reallly did this, then the proof is easily available. I can’t see anyone letting this slip. A couple of years ago, there was a “sexting” incident in our public school district (in the MS, for God’s sake). The HS principal visited every 12th grade English class (best way of reaching every single 12th grader) and let them know that, for those who were 18, there would be serious consequences for anyone who participated in anything like this. In any way, including just forwarding the “sext.” If GZ really did this, I don’t see how he escapes the consequences.

        • To be clear, I do not know if the photo actually shows them having sex as opposed to it being a photograph of them while they were having sex, but for one reason or another what they were actually doing is not clear.

    • Dave says:

I believe that the text showed a single still image from the video. It might not have been pornographic in itself–just a reminder that he had the entire video and could braoadcast whenever he saw fit.

      Rotten sonofabitch.

  41. breelee says:

Isn’t it a crime to send porn to a child? What a sick person. Come on Holder! Do your job..

    • Malisha says:

Sending porn to a child is child sexual abuse. He should be prosecuted for child abuse. Of course, he should have been prosecuted for child abuse for stalking, threatening, assaulting and killing Trayvon Martin. But THIS is a little WHITE child. (Presumably)

      • Trained Observer says:

@Malisha — Presumably. Yet did the allegedly black kids Fogen and SheLie mentored ever surface? Samantha/mom claim to have been in the lives of Fogen and the Mrs. for many years, and the SS kid is 10.

Too soon to tell if any of this fits together, but there are a lot of pervy people out there who keep quiet until pressed by a good federal agent grilling.

Have always wondered why so many “upstanding” Sanford citizens had been in Fogen’s midst long before Trayvon was murdered. And why they were so eager to rally around Fogen after the murder. It’s a stretch, but could be that besides racism, there’s also a kiddy cult factor at play here.

        • lurker says:

They never surfaced, nor did anyone who had any knowledge or memory of his alleged involvement in the case of the policeman’s son who was getting off for beating up a homeless black guy.

The guy is, as Serino pointed the way to, a pathological liar. Meaning, tells lies when it would be just as simple to tell the truth. No compunction whatsoever about crafting fantasies to evade responsibility. Probably convinces himself that they are true.

        • We don’t have any evidence to support that theory, so we best not go there.

    • Girlp says:

I’m betting she erased the text from the phone…her duty as a mother was to report him, let the police see the text, the police should have charged him and he should be in prision today. How could she not protect her child from this pedofile….he is a nasty character and she should be in jail too for not protecting her child.

      • Trained Observer says:

She can erase all she wants. Texts are retreivable under subpoena

        • Girlp says:

Good the pervert needs to go to prison…..I hope it’s for a good long time.

        • looolooo says:

Retrievable? Not if it dims the halo around fogen’s Cro-Magnon skull. Retrievable? Tell that to Shellie’s Apple ipad.

          • Trained Observer says:

Texts sent via smart phone have a shelf life far away from the smart phone they are sent on or received upon; as opposed to video footage shot and lost on an iPad that gets smashed.

      • lurker says:

My suspicion is that Mama was hip to Georgie before SS was. Also, from the sound of things, SS hoped that putting his junk on Front Street via national media would force hiim into some kind of treatment.

She sounds like a pretty classic enabler via rescuing.

But, don’t expect Georgie to end up with healthy folks who make lots of rational decisions. Remember, as Shellie got stronger he moved away from her and she was able to move away from him.

Abusers and users gravitate toward those they can abuse and use. And those who have weaknesses in those areas are unprotected when someone like Georgie shows up.

        • looolooo says:

He dumped Shellie’s azz, took what was left of the money, and hooked up with SS who has been enjoying his gravy train of media attention. Then and now. She and her mother are pathetic.

He sends her daughter a pornographic text, and she didn’t report it to the police nor send him packing then and there?!
