Good afternoon:

I’s a batten-down-the-hatches day because we are under a tornado watch in western Kentucky with extremely bad weather forecast for the midwest.

Some topics that may be of interest:

1. Lake Mary PD announced they are not going to charge George Zimmerman with a crime;

2. Spike Lee has been sued by the people whose address was erroneously identified as George Zimmerman’s in a message he retweeted;

3. In response to millions of health insurance cancellations and accusations that he lied when he promised people could keep their plans, President Obama has announced that people will be able to keep their substandard health insurance plans for another year creating a monstrous headache for actuarial calculations and decisions to price new plans; and

4. Why did Mars lose it’s atmosphere and water?

Broke a table, pointed a shotgun at her, pushed her out the door and barricaded himself in/or her out.

Let’s hope it wasn’t that shiny new keltec shotgun given to him on his last visit.

Police are awaiting a search warrant to look for 2 guns.

  2. Lynn says:

~IF~ released on bail tomorrow, at least the SAO sounds like they’ll ask for his gun until this is resolved.

“Presumably Zimmerman will appear before Seminole County Judge Fred Schott tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in Sanford and learn more about the case against him and whether he will remain locked up.

Chris White, chief of operations for the State Attorney’s Office in Sanford, said he had received no paperwork from the Sheriff’s Office, detailing what happened but that if the case involves domestic violence, he would likely ask that Zimmerman be barred from having access to guns, should a judge allow him to go free.”

  3. Trained Observer says:

Another bright spot: Sanford PD not involved … this is a Seminole County sheriff’s office gig.

    Is the pregnant woman OK

    • lurker says:

Most everything is pretty speculative at this point. Based on the name/address provided to the police during the altercation with Shellie, it would seem that the gf is the same blonde who was there (believe that her name is Scheibe). TMZ is citing unnamed insiders for the info that she says she is pregnant. Most reports say that the 911 call will be made available shortly–which seems to be pretty much the case in FLA (except, of course, for the 911 calls in the Trayvon Martin case, which were actively withheld).

    • aussie says:

So far “claiming” to be pregnant, doesn’t say since how long ago, no mention of ambulance being called. Guess she’s OK (apart from getting involved with him in the first place).

  5. Dave says:

Even a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction will lose him his gun rights.

  6. aussie says:

Oh no. OH NO . OH NO.

TMZ reckons the girl friend is pregnant. I soooo hope they are wrong. The last thing the world needs is another GZ

    • aussie says:

      One bright spot though

“Since she’s pregnant, we’re told the domestic violence charge is automatically listed as a felony. The Seminole County Sheriff’s website says Zimmerman is not eligible for bail.”

    • Trained Observer says:

Aussie — If indeed this idiot GF is preggers, let’s hope she’s been sleeping around and the kid belongs to someone else. Family Fogen is one herd that needs to be thinned.

      • aussie says:

This may have been a good starter for an argument… either the pregnant bit or the whose is it question.

f course she’s been with him for a while so may have learnt a few tricks, and the whole claim could be just a play for sympathy from the cops.

I hope she’s not. Otherwise, poor kid, whoever the sperm donor is.

  7. Trained Observer says:

    Fogen: “Hello/. Mark? Mark O’Mara? …”
O’Mara’s office: “I’m sorry, all our phones are disconnected.”

  8. lurker says:

According to law enforcement sources — which have been involved with the Zimmerman case since day one and have always been reliable — Zimmerman got physical with his girlfriend earlier today, who claimed she was pregnant.

Since she’s pregnant, we’re told the domestic violence charge is automatically listed as a felony. The Seminole County Sheriff’s website says Zimmerman is not eligible for bail.

At least this time the cops (sheriff’s department) put him in cuffs and charged him. Sooner or later the blame game he does will get old and people will start to see him for what he is.

  10. lurker says:

Can it now be said that, despite all verbiage from Robt jr, O’Mara and the gaggle over at the treehouse, the great threat to George Zimmerman comes not from the NBBP, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the liberal media, Spike Lee or innumerable black youths armed with deadly concrete sidewalks? The one unyielding threat to George Zimmerman is George Zimmerman himself. He has a penchant for over-the-top behavior stemming from a controlling personality and uncontrolled temper. The fact that Southern Institutional Racism allowed him to skate on murder has only deepened his denial of his own problems, which, it would appear, are many.

I’m sorry someone got hurt, but she had to have an idea of what she was in for and like I said, at least he didn’t kill someone this time. YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!

towerflower–I just saw that and headed here first to share. Apparently the charges are for domestic abuse and the accuser is a girl friend (not Shellie). Not clear if she is the same one who accompanied him to the house the day he was getting all frisky with the gun in his shirt.

    More US media interest.

CNN to air the Rob Ford interview tonight on AC 360. He’s got the US attention, like Zimmerman, he’s playing with media he has more chance to control in a softball toss. His campaign for re-election has begun.

    A CP release”

The mayor has remained defiant, showing up at a CFL game in Toronto on Sunday and doing interviews with U.S. media networks Fox News and CNN.

Ford has previously admitted to smoking crack cocaine “in a drunken stupor,” but in excerpts of an interview aired on CNN’s “New Day” Monday, he admits to having “smoked some crack sometimes.”

The full interview is to be broadcast Monday night on the show “Anderson Cooper 360.”

    • lurker says:

Rob Ford is a major piece of work. One Canadian commentator that I read put the blame for his election on redistricting that lumped suburban areas into Toronto. Apparently something about him resonates with those folk–or at least works to divide the opposing vote in some way. Apparently his chauffeur was arrested early in the scandal under suspicion of being the purveyor who provided Ford with drugs. However, pressing charges against hizzoner is more difficult, even with his open admission. Apparently Canadians are pretty lax in their drug enforcement and would prefer more accommodating laws but for fear of the US closing the border should they go there.

Still an open question as to whether there are potential candidates who could defeat him in the next election–and no legal remedy (such as a recall) in the interim, unless he were to resign.

With #2, Spike Lee has also filed a motion to dismiss their lawsuit. He had settled shortly after the tweet with the homeowners and had them sign paperwork releasing him from any liability resulting from the tweet. Guess who is FOX USZ’s newest sweetheart?

    • ay2z says:

Apparently the bufoon’s priorities, once asked to not walk in the Santa Claus parade tossing out candies to the children, he also abandoned any plan to attend on the sidelines with his two young children and instead, opted for a booze-up-photo-op as a regular guy in the stands at the Eastern Grey Cup football final. Leaving his battered, physically and now as we see, emotionally, wife to take the kids on her own.

While the big US comedy shows have their fill, and while the likes of Dr. Drew turn their addiction shows into trash talk prime time mis-infoshows.

Why turn to FOX? Good Canadian investigative journalism is why.

Conservative party here hasn’t touched him for his behaviour and drug use, drunk driving admissions or bringing organized criminals into the mayor’s office literally and using TO’s stationary to give one of the violent criminal friends, a letter of recommendation. (the guy he was, it seems,

Has Ford brought risk to blackmail and extortion into the most powerful office in the City of Toronto? Is that why he, with no charges whatsoever against him, saying can’t talk becuse its’ before the courts”?

Something is coming down the pipe, and Ford is not playing the admit, get help and recover to rebuild, he’s heading right into election mode and lawsuits against the city of Toronto’s now well unified council in their stand against his irratic behaviour and refusal to take a break for help.

Not US business, but FOX is courting a new sweetheart since losing the zimmy brohers, they now have the Ford bros.

Want to know the real investigated story up to the crack video part, anyway? Who was extorting who?

    Moon Mining Rush Ahead?
A commercial space company wants the U.S. government to give it lunar mining rights.
Companies hoping to mine the moon’s huge stores of water ice can likely do so legally, experts say, though firms may want to hold off until new legislation grants them explicit title over whatever lunar muck they dredge up.
The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 seems to permit extractive activities on the moon and other celestial bodies, according to space-law experts. But it’s not entirely clear that mining companies would own the stuff that they extract. That fuzziness could be a problem for outfits contemplating a moon mining endeavor, which could have initial costs running into the tens of billions of dollars.

Asteroid mining? Others scoff, but Planetary Resources doesn’t think it’s that far out.

Yes Millions of years ago Mars had oceans an atmosphere thick if not thicker than ours in oxegen.

Plant life probably an microscopic life at the very least.

How ever as Frad said being smaller than Earth its molten core cooled.

Or maybe never got hot enouight to begin with to cause nuclear fussion to ocour .

Many think the pressure at the earths centre plus heat is enough to trigger a nuclear reaction at the core .

Forinstance we may have a virtual star at the centre of our planet spinning an produceing an magnetic field just as our Sun Sol does

In fact the heat at the centre of the Earths core is hotter than the surface of the Sun.

Mars cntre its molten spinning dybamo cooled an its magnetic force field ceased .

Allowing Mars atmosspere to be eroded away ofer a couple of million years by solar winds.

It s still got remnant of an atmosper but its shallow an weak forinstance them dust devil whirlwinds you see in mars.

  37. A huge tornado just missed us while causing massive damage to Brookport, IL

    That was very scary.

    • Xena says:

Please, stay safe. We have tornado watches in our area. It stormed all day yesterday and earlier today — thunder — kinda odd for this time of year.

Crazy1946. Bless your heart. Thus far, no tornadoes here. I have a basement — which reminds me, I need to tell my son to clean up his “man-cave” room down there because tools are laying out all over the place. Just imagine being safe from a tornado but getting hit in the head with a power saw. LOL!!

          • crazy1946 says:

Xena, here’s the deal, if you hear a tornado coming run upstairs and grab a mattress, come back down to the basement, gather all his tools and etc into a pile, throw the mattress over them and then lay on top of mattress to protect the tools…. You must remember tools are hard to replace… 😉

          • Xena says:

HA! Crazy1946, my mattress is king size. It took two burly men to move it upstairs. LOL!!

The man cave has its own corner that my son is in the process of building a door for, (the reason for the mess). The weather has calmed down here. Maybe the man-cave will be a project for me this week. 🙂

Has anyone else noticed how many articles and stories that involved historical information on the Zimmerman family have simply gone the way of the dinosaurs? There is not even a Wikipedia page left to be found with the bio of Robert W. Zimmerman Sr. It seems as if all the back ground information about them has been removed from even the news sites that I had linked.

    • Xena says:

@crazy1946. Hadn’t noticed. I picked up on Papa Zim’s appeal to investigators to stop investigating that he has some training in using influence. Also, based on Mama Zim’s communications in English, I figured her employment was by patronage.

So, George’s parents worked in the judicial system. He has an uncle that works in insurance and another uncle (or maybe the same one) that is a Sheriff. According to Papa Zim’s website, the daughter lost her job with the government after George’s bond was revoked.

But George? He works as a bouncer, a used car salesman, and mortgage approval.

More than Papa Zim’s background, I wonder why he didn’t help George get gainful employment like he did Mama Zim and the daughter.

Junior? He seems to make it just find in whatever it is that pays his bills.

      • crazy1946 says:

“I wonder why he didn’t help George get gainful employment like he did Mama Zim and the daughter.”

Some how, I suspect if we could actually find out what lead Sr. to exile George Zimmerman to Florida, we would have a clue to the answer to that question. Something serious happened in Virginia, that we may never know about… I finally have started back to digging into Sr.’s past, attempting to understand what he is holding that gives his family a “get out of jail free” card.. It may sound strange, but I am starting to guess it is a combination of something that both he and his father were involved in.. The only common link that I can find to both is the possible involvement of Sr. in operation Condor in Latin America. His father (Robert Walter Zimmerman) was a high ranking operative in the early years of the CIA and was stationed in Peru at the time of the inception of Operation Condor. This was the period that Sr. was born, and if what I have found is accurate he was born in Lima, Peru while his father was stationed there at the embassy. We knew that George had dual citizenship, but were not aware his father did as well. more to follow as I dig, but only things that I can verify as accurate…

        • Xena says:

@crazy1946. I’m not sure that Papa Zim is able to pull strings — won’t give him that much power. What I have contemplated is that the feds want everything they can get against George. If that is true, it’s not a get out of jail free card, but a get him in prison for life opportunity.

          • crazy1946 says:

Xena, I think you underestimate Sr., he may appear weak, but he does have contacts that were made during the time he was in “service to the government” and quite possible has information that if released would do major damage to the stature of our nation! However you may be correct, time will tell. One thing that I would bet a cup of coffee on is that nothing will be done about George Zimmerman for about another year… Too much politics involved..

          • Xena says:

          • Xena says:

@crazy1946. I’m an optimist and one of those people who believe that faith, hope and love are the greater of all things. Even when there is evidence of oppressive acts, I never give it power to change my internal being to rob me of those things that are eternal.

Then too, there is karma for those such as Zimmerman. We’ve already seen “the real” George Zimmerman exposed since the verdict.

I am quite aware that you are an optimist, that is one of the many things I admire about you! On many things I am optimistic, but some things require that a dose of reality be used when you study them. Politics is one such thing, optimism is good but being objective keeps one from being misled by what you see on the surface. We are however each unique individuals and will do what we are comfortable with, as well we should. I have a little bit of reading to do this evening, so I will bid you good night, and wish you sweet dreams..

          • Xena says:

On many things I am optimistic, but some things require that a dose of reality be used when you study them.

Being optimist is not an exchange for reality. Rather, it’s living in the reality — kinda like taking lemons and making lemonades.

Politics is one such thing, optimism is good but being objective keeps one from being misled by what you see on the surface.

When it comes to politics you might say that I’m neutral. Long history here in that area. Remember, I’m from the state that sent the most governors to prison. If you’re talking about the judicial system, I can tell you that elected judges have a political system to themselves. But politicians overall can be here today on an issue, and there tomorrow on the same issue.

I thought that there was a family rift up until the time of George’s difficulties. Perhaps daddy wasn’t sufficiently interested in little George to see that he had employment (or perhaps the insurance adjuster position was the best he could influence, give George being George). Clearly they booted Robt Jr because he is gay–and he claims that George allied with him. My best guess is that the Z. home growing up was a pressure cooker of mess and both sons left pretty much of their own volition. George was happy to drop Daddy like a hot potato minute the verdict was announced (just like he did O’Mara).

I also have some questions about exactly how far Daddy’s influence extended, or how wise he is. The first couple of attorneys were Daddy-provided. The first one specialized in something completely irrelevant (wills and insurance, perhaps) and had the look of “old family friend.” The second pair was a real circus act.

Lots of fun to speculate, though.

looneydoone, Thanks for your suggestions, I have started to establish links from the Clemence Zimmerman family to the current Zimmerman clan, but so far they are only circumstantial and not sufficient enough for me to claim they are factual.. I try to deal in fact, in matters like this… and don’t want to falsely lead anyone down a path that falls off a cliff. I had a short video that was from a Spanish speaking site, where Robert Zimmerman was addressing them in Spanish and he claimed to be fluent in the language because his mother was Spanish, but the site that I was linked to is no longer available, and I failed at the time to copy the video to my hard drive, my error in not foreseeing that the I-net might be scrubbed of his history and even of his words…

However, a Becker figures prominently Summer of 1938, first Jewish refugee’s to arrive in La Paz, Boliva…courtesy of his contacts within the Embassy in Vienna, Austria. His soon to be wife was one of those refugee’s, Ella Wolfinger (daughter of Nathan and Bertha) Co-inkydink ??? She committed suicide shortly after they married.

Whoever they might be related to, their family history is a compelling read.

How do we know that this was actually Robert Snr’s father? troll Amajazin started this, to imply a CIA connection. But refused to explain how she figured it is the same family, though I challenged her on it several times. All the names involved are quite common, even in combination (ie same for both husband and wife).

The oral history guy linked above certainly sounds like CIA — but nothing there to say he’s anything to do with George’s dad. Same as there was nothing to show George and Junior are adopted, which would have involved the supposed mother in having two illegitimate children years apart, between her two marriages…. to the SAME man, as it is obvious the two boys are full brothers.

If the background genealogy is now not on the internet, the likeliest reason is that the family it belongs to got sick of being dragged into this murder case. With all the rubbish going on in this case, I find it significant that nobody ever picked up and ran with this line apart from Amajazin.

aussie, thanks for your input. Perhaps you might share your direct knowledge of the history of the Zimmerman family? it would be great to get factual history from a reliable source, and not from some one who is a troll. I eagerly await your information, it will give me good reason to stop searching and sifting thru all the rubbish out there that has been said in the past, truthful information like you seem to possess seems to be quite difficult to find on the internet.

I have heard that it was possible that George and Jr. were adopted, but never considered that it would or could be relevant in any manner. I am curious about your allegation that they would have had to be “illegitimate”, is it your feeling that only women with illegitimate children give their children up for adoption? Could it not be that a mother would offer her children for adoption if she felt they would have a better life with another family? But I still don’t know what direct effect this would have on my looking into Sr.’s history? Would it not be better to wait until I actually post definitive comments before you attempt to discredit them?

          • Dave says:

Right. Maybe they were orphans, possibly the children of some relative. There’s not much information to go on.

          • aussie says:

I recall slogging through the stuff Amajazin was posting, that is now apparently missing. The woman who, according to her, would have been their mother, was listed as being married much earlier, then divorced, then getting married to someone else much later. She was not married at the time they would have been born (unless, I guess, there’s an intervening husband the genealogist didn’t record).
I Googled the names she was pointing to and most of them came up 8 or 10 times; don’t think even one came up as belonging to just one person, and many had relatives with the same names, too, often in the same relationship (Robert husbands and Isabella wives as an example). So I really don’t believe the story, she refused quite rudely to explain how she figures it’s the right family, and I do think the people she was bandying about withdrew it from the internet to not be involved.

aussie, Unless it is an opinion, and if I state it as a fact, I will give a “valid” link to my source. I may run into a stone wall, I may not find anything, however I don’t feel like I have much, other than time, to lose by making an effort to find answers.. If I post something and claim it is factual and do not provide you a valid link, then please do challenge the statement… I’m human, and as such, I do make mistakes, but unlike many others, I will admit when I am wrong… I have done so even on here when I have made an error, so I won’t stop doing it now… One thing that I do find annoying is when someone takes the words said and twist and distort them to have an opposite meaning.. In a case like that, I can be rather bull headed…

Aussie, I think you may be right. Aja or whatever her handle was, was barking up the wrong tree with the wrong family. I think that family removed their history. I don’t think the Fogen family had much online to be traced to begin with. I think the family has more luck than clout, but that’s just my two cents. He may have more friends and connections than we think, but even those may grow thin with repeated violations – Fogen’s in the news again this morning on a domestic violence charge against his girlfriend..

You mean Zimmerman is still out, roaming, looking, hunting for INNOCENT, UNARMED, YOUNG BLACK BOYS??
What a f*cked up world we live in.

  40. The theory supported by most scientists is that a planet must have a magnetic field to prevent the solar winds from destroying its atmosphere.

Mars lost its atmosphere and oceans after it lost its magnetic field.

Unlike Earth, Mars is too small to have maintained its molten core. It lost its magnetic field when the core solidified.

To test that theory, Maven that will be launched from Cape Canaveral tomorrow. After travelling to Mars, it will go into an elliptical orbit sampling its upper atmosphere.

    • gblock says:

That’s interesting. Seems like when I was a kid, the reason commonly given in books is that Mars had lost most of its atmosphere due to low gravity. It’s interesting that the actual explanation may be something else. Of course, both the low gravity and the core solidifying are related to the planet’s small size, but they are still fundamentally different explanations.

As for water, I seem to remember that is still has some, though not necessarily in liquid form.

Stay safe, don’t take chances. Saw the weather pattern on my iPad yesterday. We have a beautiful sweater day in Eastern Wyoming. Have no idea about Mars, only noticed an article but didn’t take time to read. Why doesn’t everybody who retweeted what Spike did get sued? How can they single out just him? Can you single someone out like that in a civil suit and what state? I don’t know what it was so I don’t even have an opinion. I try hard not to think about Georgie, big baby. Forgot the other.

Hope you have emergency stuff and access to Internet so you don’t go stir crazy. Take care.

        This just in:

BREAKING: Orlando’s WESH-Channel 2 is reporting, and the Seminole County sheriff’s office has confirmed, that George Zimmerman has just been arrested for domestic violence against his new girlfriend. Since his acquittal for killing Trayvon Martin in July, Zimmerman has had a string of run-ins with law enforcement, including a September 911 call from estranged wife Shellie after Zimmerman allegedly threatened Shellie and her father with a gun.
