    • You all have thoughtful comments says:

Pat, thanks for your report on the memorial service in your community. How good that people across America joined hands
last night to remember Trayvon and to support the cause of justice for Trayvon.

Yesterday certainly was full of emotion, that’s for sure and carries into today. The kids had a an important rehearsal because they are auditioning a singer, bass player and keyboard / vocalist tomorrow that are supposed very good so they want to impress. My wife balled a pillow up in her lap and watched the memorials on TV and began crying.

What did Fogen have for support…..racist rants and a few hillbillies out there chanting “Stand Your Ground….Stand Your Ground !!”

But half of them had to stop after a minute to close the little roof vents on their houses when it started raining.

Some of you might want to look at an article I wrote on “white privilege on Newsvine”

In the comment section under my article was this exchange:

    you all have thoughtful comments:

My recognition of this ingrained conscious and unconscious white privilege within me is not telling me to feel guilty…….it is telling me to take on the responsibility to acknowledge it and do all I can to rid myself of it.  Last night I denounced it.  I want to renounce it now as I continue to uncover each bit of it.  I also have the responsibility to lead others at appropriate times to discover and recognize it.
Only when each of us do this will our society improve.

DOCJT replied to all have thoughtful comments

Exactly. It has virtually nothing to do with guilt. You cannot be guilty for unconsciously accepting and benefitting from that which you did not ask for nor seek to use against others. It is simply a matter of awareness in the pursuit of equity.

“Trayvon Martin did not die in vain” by Roland Martin

  6. Malisha says:

The piece of this that is, to my way of thinking, the most peculiar, is the willingness on the part of Jeralyn Merritt, Alan Dershowitz, even Jonathan Turley, to give credence to a nonsensical story — essentially, a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Remember Serino asking Fogen: “What would make him suddenly go off like that — other than the fact that he felt you were profiling him — that’s what we have to deal with.” Fogen’s little tiny voice, “I don’t know.”

People who are willing to believe that Trayvon suddenly, and without any provocation, attacked Fogen and savagely beat him, can only be concluding that ridiculous deduction [from no logical facts, of course] because they profile Trayvon Martin as a violent criminal. Only by PRESUMING that Trayvon Martin was a violent criminal type BY NATURE can they logically accept Fogen’s story. If Trayvon Martin was a normal kid walking through the neighborhood in a perfectly non-threatening and acceptable manner, Fogen’s story does not work.

So people who subscribe to Fogen’s story do so because they are profiling Trayvon Martin. Period.

    • You all have thoughtful comments says:

Again, I agree with you Malisha:

So people who subscribe to Fogen’s story do so because they are profiling Trayvon Martin. Period.

      • You all have thoughtful comments says:

And they are being lead to this under their leadership that is LYING as it, over and over again, makes up unfounded descriptions that falsely portray Trayvon as being a thug.

    • xy11xy says:

George is gonna have a fine time trying to prove Trayvon was a crazed killer.

He better come up with something more than “I don’t know.”

Hey…I know what! How about he tell police that Trayvon tried to kill him because he pulled a gun on him?

Oh well, that won’t work either. There’s none of his DNA on Trays hands!

  7. Malisha says:

For anyone to believe Fogen’s story about what Trayvon did to him, that person has to believe, as did Fogen, that Trayvon Martin was just a criminal type, “up to no good.” Serino asks Fogen why he thinks Trayvon would have become so enraged, “other than he thought you were profiling him?” Fogen says in his tiniest little voice, “I don’t know.” Yet on Hannity, Fogen rules out fear as a motivation for Trayvon — after all, Fogen has a right to determine not only what motivates HIM [only good and honorable motivations] but what motivates the people he targets as assholes and punks. He’s superior, so he can attribute to them all the motivations that are needed to explain their bad behavior, see?

So to Fogen, Trayvon started out “real suspicious” and “up to no good” and then his conduct, in making an unprovoked thug attack on a nice guy simply looking for an address and beating him savagely, proved Fogen’s initial “educated guess” about Trayvon’s evil ways. It works for Fogen; it works for Jeralyn Merritt and for Alan Dershowitz and to some extent for Jonathan Turley. They don’t even realize that in adopting that ridiculous conclusion they are profiling Trayvon Martin as a Black criminal type, given to violence and acting out of “Black rage” and unwarranted hostility.

When Serino asked Fogen to comment on Trayvon’s motive, Fogen came in with his little tiny lie voice: “I don’t know.” But when Hannity suggested that perhaps Trayvon acted out of fear, Fogen assumed his position as the superior and not only laid down the blameless motivations HE HAD when he followed “the suspect,” he also ruled out fear as a motivation for Trayvon Martin. My my my, how convenient! Fogen knew what was in Trayvon’s mind that caused Trayvon to attack and savagely beat him, and it was “not from fear.” Then what? From wickedness, of course! From being a Black criminal, naturally! From being, essentially, a “savage” who does not need a motive to do bad things. From being someone who was “up to no good.”

People who believe Fogen’s illogical and inappropriate story believe it because it strokes their prejudices. Even the intelligent ones among them. What a shame!

    • You all have thoughtful comments says:

      Another good assessment, Malisha.

and, I agree with you when you write:

People who believe Fogen’s illogical and inappropriate story believe it because it strokes their prejudices. Even the intelligent ones among them. What a shame!

      • parrot says:

        I agree.

I taught Spanish and ESOL in high school for 11 years. I think about my eleventh graders on the college track. That is how I see Trayvon Martin, like an eleventh grader sitting in my Spanish II class. It’s painful, and this anniversary is a poignant reminder.

The reaction by the bigots to the vigil has been to renew the same tired arguments in post after post. I read two or three of them and have to stop. It’s hard to stomach the unmitigated gall of some posters purporting that the “facts” show this, or the “evidence” absolutely proves that without so much as a cursory showing of it.

GZ, like an single-minded animal, went into predator mode spurred on and emboldened by the secure knowledge that he was packing a gun. Judge, jury and executioner.

I believed this instinctively months ago just reading the news, but now after following this blog I have learned so much.

To all of you who have looked long and hard at the evidence and have generously shared your talents and insight, thank you. Such an incredible amount of time and effort. Thank you.

Gracias, profesor, for providing this safe haven.

  8. whonoze says:

There can be no peace for all the Trayvons until justice is done, and that will require a lot more than the conviction of George Zimmerman. There must be serious change, and change can only come from understanding what and who are the problem. So here’s another RATM track:

    Something must be done
About vengeance, a badge and a gun
I’ll rip the mike, rip the stage, rip the system
I was born to rage against ’em

Fist in ya face, in the place
And I’ll drop the style clearly
    Know your enemy

Today I shall hope that Trayvon Martin did not die in vain. I shall hope we learned something about our culture of officially sanctioned violence, about where power lies, how it is abused, for whom the cards are stacked, and who gets the raw deal. I shall hope that his senseless death let us better know the enemy, and that we too shall find the will to rage against the machine.

    • You all have thoughtful comments says:

Yes, I, too, hope that Trayvon did not die in vain and that the conditions out there change so that there will be no more Trayvons.

Incidentally……about this video: With the red star as the stage backdrop and one of the band members wearing a hat similar to the communist party hat, is the band working the crowd up into a frenzy to protest the conditions in communist China?

      • whonoze says:

No. Conditions in America and Mexico. They’re radical Leftists, with politics similar to The Clash, but in a North American context. They funded a pro-Zapatista documentary about the rebellion in Chiapas. The red star is a symbol of anti-capitalist struggle in the name of the poor and oppressed, not of allegiance to any ‘Communist’ government.

I am glad you posted this, Xena.

      • Xena says:

@yahtc. Have you ever had a mix of emotions of love and yet feel sorry for people demonstrating a hateful, racial bigotry sickness?

No matter how much Tracy, Sybrina, and Trayvon Warriors say this is a right vs. wrong thing, not a Black vs. White thing, Zidiots take to comment boards and blogs with racial slurs and derogatory racial comments. Today, they did it for no other reason than to spread their filth on this anniversary day. Even O’Mara tried re-directing attention to his overweight client.

        Justice for Trayvon!

      • You all have thoughtful comments says:

Mixed emotions, yes…………more like a troubled heart with troubled love.

I don’t want distress and frustration to dowse the warm flame of love. I feel I am constantly having to take the love to the safety of higher ground and not let my seething anger over the racial bigotry sickness and its hate ever wash me down river.

I want to use the strength of my love productively to protectively enfold the hearts of those who are the object of the hate and racism out there.

I want to keep my emotions in a positive mode so that I can constructive stand up against the racism and bigotry of the haters and not give them one inch.

      • You all have thoughtful comments says:

        You are welcome, Xena.
I am going to bed now. Be blessed.

      • Malisha says:

Xena, I’m having a little giggling fit because I’m imagining a conversation between Fogen and O’Mara a few days ago.

Fogen: The anniversary is coming up and it gives me PTSD.

O’Mara: I know. By now, that’s pretty much undisputed.

Fogen: I think we have to come out with a big media splash about my broken nose. Sometimes in the middle of the night, I wake up in a cold sweat, and my nose hurts. We need to force NBC to cover that story; it’s an important story; it’s my NOSE!

O’Mara: George, you’re gonna have to make it through to the end of February without a single mention of your nose or your terrible beating.

Fogen: SAVAGE beating. My Mom said it was SAVAGE!

O’Mara: If you or Junior says one word to the press about your nose or if you or Junior utters the word “savage” between now and March 1, I quit, do you understand? You’re gonna have to talk about something else, do you understand me?

Fogen: mumble mumble mumble fucking mumble mumble. Assholes mumble. Mumble mumble.

O’Mara: See? There you go, you’re getting the hang of it.

      • blushedbrown says:

        @Xena

        Thank you that was beautiful.

I am struggling with this and most days I just don’t get it…I just don’t get that we live in a world filled with so much hatred, so much prejudice… but then again, in the face of adversity, I am reminded of the strength and dignity of Sybrina and Tracy and of the hope a better tomorrow by racerrodig’s children.

Trayvon you have profoundly touched the hearts, minds and souls of many…many more than most of us could ever have in 100 lifetimes on this earth. I know for a fact that you have profoundly touched my life. I look forward to our next meeting next at heaven’s gate.

The lyrics are too relevant not to post

I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I’ve been running ever since
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

It’s been too hard living but I’m afraid to die
Cause I don’t know what’s up there beyond the sky
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

I go to the movie and I go downtown somebody keep telling me don’t hang around
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

Then I go to my brother
And I say brother help me please
But he winds up knockin’ me
      Back down on my knees

      Ohhhhhhhhh…..

There been times that I thought I couldn’t last for long
But now I think I’m able to carry on
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

    • Tzar…..I have that song on a cd of Sam’s. I listen to it and want to cry because he too died tragically young.
I look at a package of Skittles or Arizona tea and tears come to my eyes…I listen to Trayvons last terror filled screams and I want to scream out loud for him. I hope and pray that the day will come when I can breath a sigh of relief when the person who stole Trayvon’s future, will be told that he must spend his future in prison….only to be forgotten there.
      Trayvon will not be forgotten!!!!

since this world is a dichotomy of sorrow which can follow joy and pleasure that can heal the pain of bringing a child into this world, i am also celebrating that today, one woman in diaz arkansas, carrie cash, brought her son, j.r. cash into this world 81 years ago. i shall let johnny’s words speak also for me.

  17. groans says:

A friend who lost her young adult son shared this poem with me, which another friend had sent her.

    GOD’S LENT CHILD

“I’ll lend you for a little while a child of mine,” God said,
“For you to love the while he lives, and mourn for when he’s dead.
    It may be six or seven years, or forty-two or three;
But will you, till I call him back, Take care of him for me?

“He’ll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief,
You’ll have his lovely memories as a solace for your grief.
    I cannot promise he will stay, since all from Earth return;
But there are lessons taught below that I want my children to learn.

    “I’ve looked the whole world over, in my search for teachers true;
And from the things that crowd life’s lane, I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love? Nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take this lent child back again? ”

I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joys Thy child will bring, the risk of grief we’ll run.
We will shelter him with tenderness, we’ll love him while we may,
    And for the happiness we’ve known, forever grateful stay;
But should Thy angels call for him much sooner than we’d planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.”

Tray…..I never met you, I wish I had. I wish I’d been there walking home from the 7-11 joking and talking with you that night. My dad says we need to watch out for each other and until I read about you I really didn’t understand. Dad taught me to be color blind with everyone and now I can tell what he means. I watched your mom and dad talk on TV and I was in tears. My mom watched someting on TV tonight about you and was crying for you and your mom and dad. If I could have been there with you this would not have happened and I feel so bad.

Me and the guys in my band are trying to write a song about you and it’s so hard because we get angry about why this happened. Look after us from the Heavens. You know, there are a lot of people who love you and I’m glad I became a member of Team Trayvon.

You guys will get that song down soon. I have alot of confidence in you guys, even though you are angry, you are working through it to find lyrics that expresses what you are feeling. It will come, take your time, don’t force it. Slim is patient. 🙂

        We the living…..
        .
        .

      • Thankfully, that is true. By the time my elderly mother mailed me the news clip about the murder of a boy carrying candy and iced tea, I had already signed the petition. My nephew was murdered (shot in the heart) when he was 16 and the motive was never known, nor was the killer ever caught. Our lives changed forever that day, and my heart aches for Trayvon’s family because this is something that no one can ever ‘get over.’ We feel very strongly that if there is anything we can do, even if it’s raising awareness or giving a voice, we’ll do it, and it is amazing to see people who have never met, coming together with so much passion and caring.

And you will know my name is the lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee

This one reminds me of Trayvon. If he had had the chance…

  31. Malisha says:

Just about every day I think of something in the case, and get the “oh oh wait a minute, hold on!” feeling and half the time I can’t get to write it down right then and it evaporates before I can memorialize it. This has been the year. This has been the year since I first heard the name Trayvon Martin and said, “How do you spell that?” Just today I was reading about Alan Dershowitz’s comments on the Oscar Pistorius case in South Africa. It seems that Pistorius’s girlfriend, who was with him at his house on Valentine’s Day, got shot four times and bludgeoned with a heavy blunt object. Pistorius, who admits that he did shoot her (but does not admit that he bludgeoned her) claims that he did so by mistake because he heard noises in the bathroom and thought it was a home invader. Pistorius’s father has apparently given a statement to the press to the effect that “if you hear noises in your house, you will naturally think it is an intruder.” He discounts the idea that you might first CHECK to see if it is perhaps your live-in girlfriend.

Dershowitz commented on the case to say that Pistorius’s interest in getting out of prison on bail awaiting trial was a bad idea for the defense to promote, because it caused him, the defendant, to put in an affidavit what HIS defense story was. Dershowitz points out that it is better for the defendant to wait and see what the forensic evidence shows, rather than starting to give stories, because they can backfire if the physical evidence does not support that story.

Interestingly (remember, the woman killed was a very pretty blond model) Dershowitz was not infuriated at the South African prosecutor for charging the man with first degree murder, even though Pistorius insisted that the killing was NOT premeditated and that he didn’t know whom he was shooting. Dershowitz is not outraged at the defendant being “overcharged.” HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! I guess when you kill a pretty blond model, and you’re a celebrity, your word is NOT as good as law, whereas when you kill a “John Doe suspect who then becomes Trayvon Benjamin Martin,” and you are an Afro-Peruvian of the American race, your word IS as good as law and should be believed.

Dersh, get a life. Or stifle it.

Oh guess what the explanation was in Pistorius’s affidavit, about why there was a bloody baseball bat on the crime scene? He shot the “intruder” four times and then went back to the bedroom; whereupon he realized that his girlfriend was not in bed where he THOUGHT she was when he arose and armed himself. THEN he thought, “uh oh maybe I shot her in the bathroom” and he used the baseball bat to break down the door of the bathroom, and when he saw her bloody body, he carried it “down” to try to revive her.

Oh yeah. That works for me, doesn’t it work for Dersh? Hey Jeralyn, doesn’t it work for you too?

Seen the Newsmax skype interview and article, “Dershowitz Takes New Shots at Prosecutor in Trayvon Martin Case”
      Link: http://tinyurl.com/acowqro.

Great comment as per usual Malishs, and another useless killing as if he didn’t mean to kill her he sure meant to kill whoever WAS in the bathroom! Maybe they can charge, “intent to kill Reeva and/or person unknown”… Lol! I don’t know but I wouldn’t take as gospel the bludgeoning with the bat story as cops have rotundly denied it so it may be parents got it wrong
and none of the serious press here carried that story only the sensationalist lot… and if correct why did the SP not use it as proof of violence to deny bail!

      • leander22 says:

        thanks for the link, gbrbsb:

“Look, Trayvon Martin was a victim who shouldn’t have died and in my view there’s a lot of moral responsibility on the shoulders of Zimmerman.

“The question is, is it a criminal responsibility? And if it is a criminal responsibility, of what degree? It’s certainly not the kind of murder charge that he’s now facing.’’

I can see, the difference between moral and legal responsibility. The problem I see, Dershowitz ignores is: what are the consequences? Should we give up justice to some superior forces altogether? What do we need secular law for then?

If you combine that with the above statement about remaining silent till you know what prosecution knows and can proof, were does that leave us, especially in murder cases?

Besides were does it leave every single one of us, if we confront a paranoid mind while obviously never quite aware what is on that person’s mind. In other words: What is the correct way to act?

Returning to the South African case, maybe it is not necessary to add the bludgeoning, if you concentrate on four shots. Doesn’t that already suggest some type of acting on impulse? Difficult to say, but no doubt the first thing on your mind if you hear noises in the night, if you life with someone may not be not a burglar, you probably first check if it couldn’t be them causing the noises. For the very simple reason, if it is a burglar s/he may be threatened too. What does it signify if this natural response is missing?

I have one experience and one memory concerning the last two paragraphs. First: the right way to act. I can assure you there is no given way to respond correctly, and your mind works very swiftly in such a situation. If you have ever faced such a scenario you will realize that Trayvon’s age may well have mattered. In my case a quote by Dostoevsky helped me to get out and survive.

Concerning the type of acting on impulse, I have vague memories too, or the realization how verbal struggles can escalate to a point that leaves one dead. Reading Malisha’s contribution another memory surfaces, the scenarios someone I once met, a member of the German secret services, once elaborated on for “my pleasure”. Scenarios about the killing of wives, I do not forget if it was his own specifically, surfaced quite prominently among the stories he offered.

Thus without going into details that may well be based on rumors, it feels Malisha’s response may well catch aspects in spite of the fact, I would be more careful with details surfacing early.

The basic question that it left me with is, to what extend the legal profession may occasionally be in a conflict between the wish to succeed and ethics or morals. Unfortunately Malisha did not give us a link. So I have to trust her concerning the statement, that struck me.

Fact is the Trayvon Martin case confronts me with something beyond the limits of innocent until proven guilty, and that is his basic prejudice which triggered events is very hard to ignore for me. And makes this case very, very special for me. It is also what Dershowitz wants to keep out, interestingly.

        • racerrodig says:

Funny how Dersh has flipped from Fogen did nothing wrong at all to he shares some blame but is it criminal…..Kind a Flipped ‘eh Dershbag.

      • leander22 says:

I’ve changed the sentence and must have deleted something that is missing now:

Reading Malisha’s contribution another memory surfaces, the scenarios about perfect murder cases, or murders that allowed you go go free someone I once met, a member of the German secret services, once elaborated on for “my pleasure”.

      • leander22 says:

I have to add something concerning what Dershowitz said.

I basically agree with him concerning the tendency to overcharge. I think prison is a very bad place to improve people’s ethics or morality. I am very, very suspicious of tendencies in the field especially of juvenile delinquency in the US, at least as far as I know about them.

But I would like to comment on his curious little exit strategy, if GZ is indeed guilty he adds, I don’t remember his exact statement, he could accept that.

Now strictly, I wished Corey would have left out her statements about having prayed with the family, the moment I heard it. But in spite of that I wish her and her team the very, very best to make her case.

    • You all have thoughtful comments says:

Malisha, you have worked tirelessly in your support of Trayvon. Thank you for all the good work you do.

    • leander22 says:

I am trying to grasp this mindset:

Dershowitz points out that it is better for the defendant to wait and see what the forensic evidence shows, rather than starting to give stories, because they can backfire if the physical evidence does not support that story.

Strictly my elder military intelligence blog friend had a really simple and somehow true phrase to put it: life isn’t fair.

But if you combine it with the above it develops a slightly Darwinist/fascist tendency: the right of the stronger, in our case the one with a gun. Man as some type of human animal.

Concerning Trayvon’s name and the fact one initially had to concentrate to spell it correctly, at least I had to. I was diving into the half-truths of O’Mara’s campaign against whatever media substitutes, in which curiously enough a black journalist surfaces, substitutes for what LLMPapa caught so perfectly above: parents that care, and found this little curious bit in the Pew Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism Special Report about the handling of blogs, twitter and mainstream media’s treatment of the Trayvon Martin case more precisely in the section about methodology and thus the necessary content analysis, see link on the right:

For Blogs, PEJ used the terms:

      Trayvon AND -(“Trayvon Robinson”)

I vividly remember that I stumbled across “Trayvon Robinson” in the process of learning a new name.

Did you know that the Trayvon Martin story got more news in 2012 then even Obama’s election? There is no way this could have happened without a deeply human story finding the media, as the article O’Mara links to on Crump and Park’s page puts it.

      • gbrbsb says:

Leander I´m replying here to a quote you made above after my link because I can´t find a reply button to reply there.

I find it quite difficult to follow you, but let me start. If you had any doubts, I LOVE Malisha´s post… and the other 99.999% of them! I only pointed out the bludgeoning because it may be false (it has been denied) and I agree with you, if that is what you are saying, 4 shots through a closed toilet door IS violent enough, sufficient to show intent to kill or at least seriously harm whoever was inside, at least in my books, so “embellishments” are unnecessary.

I am very wary of “facts” without proof or confirmation. Today´s yellow press headlines another bombshell, apparently started in the US, “Reeva was pregnant”, but it has been vehemently denied! Now remember how the press headlined Trayvon was “on drugs” when forensics showed he may have smoked, but two weeks before!!! Yes I agree with your friend, “Life isn’t fair” and add, in fact it´s bloody f*ck**g unfair!

I am trying to grasp this mindset:

“Dershowitz points out that it is better for the defendant to wait and see what the forensic evidence shows, rather than starting to give stories, because they can backfire if the physical evidence does not support that story.”</blockquote"

Soul destroying! So according to a prominent multimillionaire lawyer you should keep shtum until the forensics are out when you can make up your defence to fit around it… What moral stance is that for an officer of the court? I despair. In that case justice is then no more than a mirage you can see but not drink to quench your thirst. What a s**t of a world!

        • Hate to bust your bubble, but what he said is standard criminal defense 101.

The lawyer has an obligation to inform the client regarding the evidence against him, but is not supposed to tell the client how to respond to it.

Most of the time the issue does not come up because the client ran his mouth before a lawyer got involved.

      • gbrbsb says:

Don´t know if your reply was for Leander or me as the first para of my quote in my reply to Leander was a quote from his post but the second para was my reply… I put the end of the block quote in the wrong place!

Anyway Professor, if form, thank you kind sir for your concern, but my “bubble” was burst long ago. It burst the day a solicitor exclaimed while I was litigation friend for a severely learning disabled adult who had been robbed left right and centre by a parent trustee, “Justice! You don’t go to court to seek justice!”. And he was right!

I’m thinking about the mixture of colours of faces in the NY gathering. And thinking of how America thinks of itself as a ‘melting pot’.’

In Canada, we do not have a ‘melting pot’, but describe our country and society as a ‘mosaic’.

The NYC Times Square gathering was so many different people of different appearance, the term ‘mosaic’ came to mind.

    • You all have thoughtful comments says:

“Mosaic” is better. The old term “melting pot” did not allow for rejoicing in the different colors that make up America.

    • Nefertari05 says:

I like that. “Mosaic”. All distinctly indiviual, yet creating a beautiful whole. Some people have changed from the melting pot to the “stew”. The thought being, everyone brings thir own individual textures, flavors and spice, which makes one fantastic and tasty dish. I’m pretty sure whoever thought of it was hungry. 🙂

Another Day Closer. Justice will be served.

I am racerrodig’s son and tonight we are having rehearsal. In school, there are some kids who do not understand what really happened to you. If I had been able to get to know you, I think we would have been friends, maybe our girlfriends would have been friends, I think we would jump in the swimming pool at the same time
and try to get our dads all wet !! Maybe we would have been on the same Little League Team and maybe you would have been at rehearsal tonight.

This is Cole and I am the drummer in the band. Rest in Peace and you and your family will be forever in my prayers. Trayvon could have been the singer in our band. We never knew you but this has had an effect on all of us.

Rip Trayvon Martin. It is a terrible thing that happened; thankfully because of your death our country is closer to implementing more filtered background checks for people purchasing firearms so no one like FogenPhoole will get their hands on a firearm that they could use to commit another tragic crime like this. I am E.J and I play guitar in the band. I don’t know what kind of music you liked but it would have been cool if you could be at rehearsal tonight.

You have an iceberg-sized army of lurkers floating beneath your many more vocal supporters.

And Akim could be Trayvon too!

(Note his adorable “TH” for “z”, “YeTHu”, typical Andalusian or Latin American)

I hope Tray’s Mom and Dad see these to help sooth their aching hearts.

      • gbrbsb says:

Thank you. The words and music are so beautiful however religious or not you are… I think both would give some solace to Trayvon’s parents to see that their fight to protect others from suffering the same fate as Trayvon was so worthwhile but I so wish the CTH would see them too and realise that you cannot judge someone just by their colour because there are good and bad in every race and religion and it is the DUTY of all the good people of the world to make that known so as to become a creed for all mankind.

    Adam could be Trayvon!

        This is from Kindheart

At 7:17.A year it’s said, I have been gone,
but may I say, you are ALL wrong?
I walk amongst you, and I see,
the hurt and anguish, felt for me.

Please let me set, your minds to rest,
        I hear you……..and I send MY BEST!
So Mom and Dad, please let me say,
I feel about time, in this way:

What is an hour, what is a day…
what is a year, may I please say?
I live in Peace, I’m still with you,
and watch everything , that you do!

I am surrounded, by pure light,
there is no daylight, or a night.
I live in Peace, I know no hours,
my life now, only smells the flowers!

My life was taken, on the night,
a year ago, I was in flight,
But with you, I will always stay,
I’m with you each and every day!!!!!!!!!!

HOODIES UP! As requested by Trayvons Parents! And my candle is burning in his honor, and will be until midnight!

RIP sweet child…………Justice will be yours!

She has a real knack for making me dry. Hey, and so did the beautiful words of the “Tem Trayvon Jr. Warriors”…. You can tell they are good kids!

          • racerrodig says:

I’d like to think if being a positive influence on them was all I accomplished in life…..I didn’t waste my life away.

          • lady2soothe says:

Based of communicating with you on and off for nearly a year I’d say you’ve had a positive effect on many people!

Lol, I just realized I wrote making me *dry*, didn’t know I was even wet until she made me *cry*

No, I thank you for the good work you are doing for Trayvon´s cause. Tears well up in my eyes each time I listen to any version. The melancholy, the solemnity does not fail to bring back memories of absent friends whether from yesterday or years past, regardless of their colour or religion, and hope for their everlasting remembrance and peace.
